★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As someone totally new to BJJ, I found the prospect of joining a gym as a novice to be really intimidating. I assumed any gym I would go to would feel top-down and bro-y. Jade Fortress really broke the mold in that regard. Aisha and Barclay meet you where you’re at and strike a nice balance between taking the time to answer questions and keeping the momentum going. Classes typically have people from all different experience levels and backgrounds, so I’d recommend Jade Fortress to newcomers, black belts, and everyone in between.

March 07 · Diana McDonnell"I recently returned to my BJJ journey and have been loving my experience here so far. Aisha and Barclay are incredibly welcoming and inclusive—something that feels especially important these days.Best of all? It might just be the most affordable monthly membership in the area, if not all of Brooklyn (and trust me, I’ve done my research). Affordable, in Williamsburg? Enough said.
April 02 · Wally MazonGreat & friendly jits for beginners and experienced folks all the same. Barclays a BJJ black belt of legit lineage. If you don’t want to worry about hardos & just want to level up while havin a good time, this is the place for ya.
