★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had long been curious about Kung Fu and had come across this school online years ago. I finally was inspired to drop by the school. I have a background in martial arts, from a long time ago, but it has been a while since I trained. I wanted to make sure the school and culture was legit and not a "black belt factory" when I went to see the school. I wanted something that embodied the old school mentality of when I had learned (back when people were tough and trained hard). So far the school has surpassed my expectations. The Wing Chun system is completely different than my previous training, but that also makes it exciting. People here are warm and patient but also have the strong martial arts ethic that makes you a better person to overcome the difficulties of life, especially when many people today in society seek at all costs the road of comfort and ease. I am fortunate to have found this school!
August 28 · cI have always wanted to learn kung fu as a child but never got the opportunity until 4 yrs ago when I walked by Moy Yee Kung Fu in my neighborhood of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Learning Wing chun, Taichi, and the use of multiple weapons from Sifu Henry Moy have changed my life. I'm challenged mentally and physically every week and have gained a wealth of knowledge that will last me a life time. Sifu's teachings directly passed down from Ip Man's lineage, the variety of kung fu styles taught, and the strong bonds I have formed with the friendly community are the reasons I train here. It is the best martial arts school near me!
July 20 · Anna DuI first joined Moy Yee Kung Fu two years ago after a long time passing by the school over the years going from Bay Ridge to and from work in the Brooklyn Navy yard. I finally gave in to my curiosity and made an appointment to meet with Sifu and spent over an hour talking and listening to stories about Sifu’s Wing Chun lineage, his extensive training with many different grandmasters in various form of kung fu and tai chi, and about his philosophy on martial arts and how he runs his school. After our talk I began Wing Chun classes and found myself hooked. The teachers and other students were all warm and welcoming, while still managing to strike the right balance of discipline and strong work ethic. Learning under the guidance of Sifu’s wealth of traditional knowledge has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. Not only has my physical condition improved greatly, but the spiritual and mental rewards of having a second home and family of like minded people dedicated to learning and practicing kung fu has been a great benefit to me. Once you start you won’t want to stop; the desire to learn more from Sifu and train more takes over naturally as you see the ever evolving path of self improvement unfolding in front of you. Sifu has created what has to be one of the best traditional martial arts schools in Brooklyn. His knowledge and expertise are second to none, and he welcomes everyone into his world with open arms. Anyone living in the area and even remotely interested in martial arts, Wing Chun, or Tai Chi would be losing a great opportunity if they don’t make an appointment to come to the school to talk to Sifu and see what it’s all about.
July 10 · Jed BernsteinAn incredible school and community where you can learn Wing Chun and Tai Chi. Sifu Henry Moy Yee is an outstanding teacher and a true Kung Fu treasure. I’ve been training here for almost five years and will keep coming back to continue my learning. If you’re looking for authentic Kung Fu training, this is the place to be!
July 07 · Barbara EltingI was searching for kung fu near me in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and found Moy Yee Kung Fu. It’s easily the best school I’ve trained at.They teach both Wing Chun and Tai Chi, rooted in the Ip Man lineage—the same system that shaped Bruce Lee. The depth of training here is on another level. You don’t just learn forms—you understand structure, energy, timing, and how to apply everything in real situations.Sifu is the most skilled Wing Chun teacher I’ve ever seen— the best in North America. His ability to break down technique and correct even the smallest details is unmatched. The community is humble, focused, and generous, a huge reason why I train there for ~10 hours a week. People train hard and help each other grow. If you’re in Brooklyn and serious about learning authentic kung fu, this is the place.
