★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I appreciate that they vet new folks coming into their gym, I had fun with the gal who checked me out. I got to try the class. It was great. It was a student teacher teaching the class, he was doing the best he could in a packed room. The gal I was training with was a total sweetheart but I had a hard time following anything because of how many folks were in the room and it was just one student teacher and he really couldn't help me.After the class was over they invited me into a room. I figured this is where the class fees are discussed and what not, and I was all about it.The kid slides a sheet of paper across the table and says it's $600 to join and $400 a month to practice here, but for you we could do $400 to join and $200 a month. I asked him how often is the main teacher actually teaching the evening week day classes ? He said not very often. At that price point you don't get to train often or at all with the founder of the school? You have to fend for yourself while trying to follow kids who are learning how to teach in an overly packed room of beginners? The place was PACKED. They definitely have a cult following. But for a $600 dollar join fee and over $200+ dollars a month to learn from a junior practicioner, I'm out.I trained martial arts for most of my formulative years into my early 20's and I have a solid idea of how schools can work. The good, bad and uglyI have been an underpaid and over worked student teacher running hectic classes for my absent master and doing my best to teach student. This is exactly what I saw. Except I was on the receiving end of things this time around. However, Looks like they have a solid following of heavy hitters coming in to really train, and looks like they are getting some good returns on their memberships. But they don't share the joy with the noobs, at least from what I saw. The noobs pay the bills so the upper classmen can play.So disappointed, I was looking forward to training here regularly but that hard sale bu!!sh!t was a massive turn off. $600 dollars my @$$! For what? If im only getting facetime with a salty teenager faced with trying to successfully teach a class of 20 with no support, im out.
April 15 · Nichole WordenPHAS3 has been a very welcoming and fun experience. The coaches and staff are great and the classes are suited for beginner to advanced. I had no martial arts experience when I started in September and was looking for a good workout with some combat training and it’s been more than that! Beyond the classes, learning about Muay Thai and the culture has been a fun experience. It can be a lifestyle change you won’t regret. Best thing you can do is give them a call and come check it out. You won’t regret it.
January 06 · Sean ThompsonI highly recommend PHAS3 Martial Arts in Santa Rosa, California. PHAS3 is an incredible muay thai gym that will give you incredible confidence from the fitness, self-defense skills and spiritual approach they teach. I have been lucky to train at PHAS3 for more than 10 years and my children did their kids martial arts program as well. We love Sensei Ben Brown.
September 12 · Kurt HoffmannI discovered this Muay Thai studio by accident. There was training going on, so I went in to observe. The instructor seemed to be more interested in signing me up for lessons than explaining how this practice could benefit me. On my own, I learned that the training you receive here can make you a more confident, kinder, disciplined and focused individual. I was very impressed with the training I saw taking place.
October 22 · Alan HennessyCan not recommend phas3 enough to people. Not only do the coaches foster a welcoming environment for all levels of experience, but the level of passion they have to share their experience is seen within the first class of being here. Keeps me coming 8+ hours a week!
