Choosing a martial arts school is a significant decision, and J.Y. Moon Taekwondo stands out for a multitude of reasons. For many families in the New York region, it represents more than just an activity; it's a foundational part of their child's development. The school’s reputation is built on the excellent instruction provided by its Grand Master, who is described by satisfied customers as an "excellent instructor" who has helped their children form a "good community." This sense of belonging is a key factor. A former customer noted that their son had a great time and built a strong community, benefiting from both physical exercise and valuable life lessons. This positive feedback highlights the school's success in creating a supportive and enriching environment.
J.Y. Moon Taekwondo’s commitment to providing a holistic experience is another key differentiator. The curriculum goes beyond basic techniques, incorporating elements like meditation and self-defense, which are crucial skills in today's world. The variety of classes, from ‘Little Tiger’ for the youngest students to competitive sparring for those with aspirations, ensures that every individual can find a program that suits their needs and goals. Furthermore, the after-school and summer camp programs provide a structured and productive alternative to traditional daycare, offering a combination of physical activity and personal development that parents highly value. The school’s amenities, including onsite services and accessibility features, make it a practical and convenient choice for local families.
However, it is important for prospective members to consider all aspects of the school. While many families have had positive experiences, one review shared a difficult encounter, noting that the school may not be the best fit for children who are very energetic or have special needs. This particular experience highlights the importance of open communication with the instructors about a child's specific needs before enrolling. While one review does not define an entire institution, it serves as a reminder to ensure that a school's approach and atmosphere align with your family's needs. Overall, J.Y. Moon Taekwondo’s strong community, comprehensive offerings, and focus on personal growth make it a compelling choice for anyone in the Croton-On-Hudson area seeking a premier martial arts education.

J.Y. Moon Taekwondo Reviews
My son has been going to J Y Moon Taekwondo and he did their afterschool in summer camp although he’s outgrown after school in summer camp. He really had a good time and formed a good community there. Grand Master is an excellent instructor and a good community overall and they get good exercise and lessons.
April 15 · Matthew McGuireAbsolutely worst experience I have ever came across. I have an energetic, just turned three-year-old and an autistic five-year-old. Desperately trying to find a school that will fit their needs, I spoke to the owner/ instructor on several occasions, specifically about my children and their needs. He made it very clear that he could work with them and please bring them. We showed up to the school, and my kids immediately took off running, as a lot of little boys do. The owner disregarded my children, as if they were not even there. He did not intent to try to stop them, get them or help me. I asked if they were other exits in the building, he said no, which was not true. They were several emergency exits that my child almost ran out of. In fact, he had the audacity to walk up to me and tell me that my “child needs to be more disciplined”. Long story short, I finally was able to gather my children and walked out. Not even then, did he even look up to stop me!!If you have an energetic child or a child with special needs, this is not the place for your children! We were treated as if we were the plague.
