December 04 · Ritu TakI've been training here for many years, and it's been a wonderful experience. Seido is a serious dojo, with an emphasis on technique and on teaching students of every level the physical and mental elements of traditional Japanese karate. Members can take an unlimited number of classes, which are offered throughout the day, and the teachers are excellent. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great karate school in New York City.
December 10 · maggie dubrisMy 7 year old son is training here, approaching a year now. I am really impressed by the history, spiritual feel, nurturing and expertise of all the instructors. I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity and large number of excellent instructors and assistant instructors -- I feel their passion. Each one has their own teaching style, but they all follow same syllabus. I see it really helping my son improve by working towards clearly defined goals. Many classmates have been training for years. Can be the sport for kids who aren't so enthusiastic about traditional sports, Osu!Update: Not just kids, great for adult learners. There are many adult classes and black belts to learn from, and together form an active adult community.
December 31 · Dave ChI have been training at Seido Karate for many years and my daughter also trained here from an early age all the way through high school. Seido operates an excellent, welcoming dojo and is easy to get to as it is centrally located near a lot of public transportation. Seido karate practice develops both the body and mind. Not only for building strength, endurance, and mobility but also for developing confidence and a positive outlook. This is a traditional Japanese dojo where you will learn practical combat skills. However, the culture is also very supportive and it’s commitment to courtesy and respect attracts a diverse student body. I highly recommend this dojo whether you are looking to return to karate training or if you are just starting out on your karate journey!
