West Linn Ki Aikido Introduce
Welcome to West Linn Ki Aikido, a sanctuary for personal growth and physical discipline nestled in the heart of the Oregon community. More than just a martial arts school, we are a community dedicated to the practice of Ki-Aikido, a unique Japanese martial art that emphasizes the unification of mind and body. In a world that often feels chaotic and fast-paced, West Linn Ki Aikido offers a space for both children and adults to find inner calm, enhance physical abilities, and develop a more focused and positive outlook on life. Our approach is distinct: instead of focusing on aggression, we teach students to redirect an opponent's energy, rendering them harmless without causing injury. This philosophy of non-violence and harmonious resolution is not just for the dojo; it’s a powerful tool that our students learn to apply in their everyday lives.
At West Linn Ki Aikido, we understand that people in the Oregon region are looking for activities that are both enriching and accessible. Our programs are designed to meet this need, providing a welcoming atmosphere for beginners and a challenging environment for experienced practitioners. From our "Lil Samurai" classes for young children to our comprehensive programs for teens and adults, we are committed to helping every student unlock their full potential. Our dojo is a place where respect and cooperation are paramount, creating a supportive community where everyone can thrive. Many of our students and their families have shared stories of how our training has led to improved focus in school, better sleep, and the ability to handle difficult social situations with a calm and confident demeanor. This is the true essence of Ki-Aikido—not just a self-defense technique, but a way to build a resilient mind and a peaceful spirit.

West Linn Ki Aikido Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1In the two years I've been doing aikido at this dojo I feel it's helped me to become a better person. Not only does it help strengthen my physical abilities but the areas I've noticed the most improvement is focus, commitment, and achieving calmness in everyday life. I saw an increase in my test scores at school, my ability to handle difficult social situations, and better sleep at night. I always feel energized and peaceful after every class. I've found an awesome and positive community in the people there and I'm so grateful for the friends I've made along with it. I genuinely suggest joining if you're feeling directionless in life and need guidance on being successful, calm, and positive.
December 06 · Chaya ValluriMy son and daughter have been attending the West Linn since early 2019. Sensei Ward has been a great role model for our children in teaching them discipline as well as the art of Aikido. Couldn't be happier.
November 22 · M “Jake” JacobsenMy son has been attending classes here for (3) years and loves it! Th instructor Sensei Ward and other instructors are great with the kids. Their ability to teach self control, calming mind and body and garner respect for authority is amazing. I would highly recommend West Linn Aikido.
April 15 · Erin DavisMy daughter began training here when she was 4-years old. The professionalism and care of the staff have helped her focus and have improved her confidence and behavior in her daily life. Sensei Ward is firm and fair with the children, giving them opportunities to learn and grow while holding them accountable to behavior and showing results.I highly recommend this dojo and Aikido to any parent looking for a nurturing, instructive and supportive martial art for their children.
March 09 · Jeff AkinThis dojo is a truly wonderful environment for the physical and emotional development of kids and teens as well as adults. Aikido is a unique martial art in its focus on developing the mind and spirit in parallel with physical techniques that enable one to redirect an opponent's aggression in a harmless way. Under the uplifting and watchful guidance of Sensei Paul Ward, this dojo teaches the principles of Ki Aikido in a challenging yet nurturing environment. As a practical matter, Aikido is one of the most useful martial arts as it enables one to be confident and dominate in confrontational situations without causing harm to self or others. As a bonus, these classes are accessible to everyone regardless of age, physical condition or prior injury. I couldn't recommend the West Linn dojo more highly to those eager to develop their mind, body and spirit in a positive way. The lifelong benefits of this practice are evidenced by the astonishing number of senior blackbelts in the NW Ki Federation who have been practicing for well over 20 years
