★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Instructor was unprofessional and attempted to spread and force feed students his political beliefs more than once. He constantly interrupted individuals and I myself as a former member was called “a disgrace and a traitor” upon leaving.
March 30 · Beto Olymy 12-year-old son and I attend classes here. I am severely legally blind, having next to no vision whatsoever. The instructors here are very kind, understanding, and go well beyond the extra mile to ensure that I receive equal quality training to other sighted students. They don’t simply passed me onto the next belt level because of my blindness. They do their best to ensure that I’m performing techniques as good as my peers in the class. That says a lot. I am very thankful for this place. Good people. Good environment. And a good place to learn the facets of character including honor and respect. I would recommend West Coast to anybody who is looking to learn martial arts, to build character, and so much more.
May 13 · Bob ColeSo glad I took the time to search for this Gem. We absolutely love West Coast Martial Arts Modesto. Everyone is so respectful and also make you feel like family. My son has been going for about three months and he looks forward to his Karate lessons. We have seen a change in his confidence for the better and he is so proud of his accomplishments. I Definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
August 12 · Jay BI have watched KJN Rick and Kim (Sir and Ma'am) work with children over the last 3 or 4 years and am astounded by the degree of skill, confidence, strength, professionalism, self discipline, competence, patience and love for themselves and others they have instilled in my grandchildren as they grew them from their stripeless white belts and quiet little ke yas! to building in them more and more expertise. Sir's expectation of persistence and excellence, an expectation he clearly holds for himself, is only matched by the depth of his care and devotion to each of his students. Sir has an innate ability to see through each child to their core and understand how to communicate with that particular child so that child can flourish, whatever the challenges that child faces. Not only are his students family to him, his care and compassion extends to the students family. There was a time recently when our family experienced some difficulty. Sir and Ma'am gathered our family in their arms and supported us through that challenging time, reminding us that we are their family as well. My grandchildren have grown physically, emotionally and behaviorally over the last 3 years. The skills they have learned will carry them well throughout every endeavor and relationship they experience for the rest of their lives. I hold them in the highest regard and I highly recommend West Coast Martial Arts. Come on in and watch them for a few sessions and see what I mean. I bet you'll want to join the family too.
May 14 · AJ WardRick Jones, Kim and all the instructors are incredible. Rick is patient and kind, yet firm and demanding. He is able to instill respect and discipline, while building the child up. The only negative, is that I didn't come across him sooner. There's not many people left in the world like Rick, truly one of the greats.
