★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My child has had an amazing experience at UMAA Martial Arts Academy. From the first day, my daughter felt welcomed and excited to learn. Over the past few months, I've seen tremendous growth in her confidence and discipline. Master donna wells and Mr.dave are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and great with kids. They know how to keep the classes fun while also being educational. The class structure is well-organized, with a perfect balance of physical activity, technique training, and character-building exercises.
May 23 · shilei chenMaster Donna and Mr. David are supportive, loving, firm, and FUN teachers to kids of all ages and abilities. My son started at a time in his life when it was very hard for him to try new things. They encouraged him without pressuring him, and now he loves it (even though it’s hard!) and has already advanced several belts. The gym is also extremely inclusive of both the many forms of cultural diversity we see across south Philly, and of different forms of neurodivergence and big kid feelings. It is a warm and welcoming environment where every kid is valued. I am so grateful for this place and can’t imagine not having it in our lives!
May 28 · Ashley de MarchenaThis place is the absolute best! My son has had the best mentorship by Master Donna and David. They are caring but they also instill discipline. It’s been hard for my son to sustain interest in anything continuously, but he’s been doing karate here for nearly two years! I can’t recommend this dojo highly enough!
May 29 · Matt ShapiroMaster Wells' Tang Soo Do School is a five star, hands down! It's an A+ program. Master Wells and her fiance, Mr Dave are wonderful nice people and great instructors. And they also put the interests of their students first over anything. Master Wells' school has done wonders for me and I'm very proud to be there. And if you have children this is the place to send them. If you really want to learn practical self-defense and to develop from within, then this is the place to go learn train.
