Troy Black Belt Academy Introduce
For working parents across Michigan, especially those in the busy Troy area, the challenge of finding reliable and enriching after-school care is a constant concern. Many are seeking a solution that goes beyond basic child care, providing an environment where children can be safe, have fun, and learn valuable life skills. Troy Black Belt Academy stands out as an ideal solution, offering a unique blend of a state-licensed child care program with high-quality martial arts instruction. This academy is more than just a place to drop off your child; it is a community that understands the needs of modern families, providing a structured, supportive, and engaging environment that benefits children both physically and mentally.
The owner, Gary, and his staff have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by working parents. As one parent noted, the academy is an "ideal solution" for families with middle school-aged children who are "too old to be in a traditional day care center" but "too young to be home by himself for several hours." The after-school program is a testament to this understanding, with thoughtful services like school pickup and care on days with extended breaks or unexpected snow closures. This level of flexibility and support is a huge relief for parents, particularly those in essential professions like healthcare, who may find it difficult to take time off during sudden school cancellations.
Troy Black Belt Academy is built on a foundation of professional instruction and a family-friendly atmosphere. The staff, including Gary, are described by parents as "nice and kind" and the environment is one where kids "really enjoy" the physical activities. The program is designed to be fun and engaging, with a variety of activities including karate and video games, ensuring that kids are always active and entertained. This positive and stimulating environment helps children develop not just physical skills, but also crucial social and emotional skills, and it's clear that everyone, both students and staff, seems to be "having a good time."
Troy Black Belt Academy is conveniently located at 5939 John R Rd, Troy, MI 48085, USA. This location makes it easily accessible for families living and working in Troy and the surrounding communities in Oakland County, including Sterling Heights and Rochester Hills. The academy's location on a major road ensures a straightforward commute for drop-offs and pickups. The facility is also designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot. These features make the academy a welcoming and inclusive space for all members of the community, regardless of mobility.
The academy has a strong connection to the local community, with its after-school program offering free pickup at select Troy area schools. This service, along with its location, makes it an incredibly convenient option for families. The spacious, clean, and safe facilities provide a professional environment for all activities, from karate training to homework time. The combination of a great location and a well-maintained facility adds to the overall value and appeal of the academy.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am sending my son here from last year. He really enjoys it here. Gary is very nice and kind with my son. My son enjoys all the physical activity they are doing. I feel safe when my son is there. They have started picking and dropping services to and from school. During the snow school closures, half days, I don't have to worry because my wife and I are working full-time, sometimes it's hard to take off when you work in healthcare during the snow storms. These days only go to place is Troy Black belt Academy.
April 08 · Sam JamesTroy Black Belt Academy has been an ideal solution for our family. Our son is in middle school and is too young to be home by himself for several hours, but too old to be in a traditional day care center. The owner, Gary, recognizes the challenges of working parents and offers after school pickup and care on school days. He is also open when the school district has extended breaks. He offers fun activities for the kids (karate, video games, etc.) and everyone always seems to be having a good time when I walk in to pick up my son in the evening.
April 14 · Sarah JThe staff goes all out during holidays and provide an after school experience that my kids love going too everyday. They not only provide discipline through Karate but they also help with school work activity. If I have any issues with anything they are more the willing to listen and make accommodations. They recently started opening their doors for early child care and everything is going perfect.
April 09 · ThotrockMy kids have been going to Troy Black Belt Academy for After School Care and Summer Day Camp for 4 years, so they are there year-round. Mr. Williams is funny and entertains the kids. Mrs. Williams is very nurturing and approachable to the kids. They offer a variety of activities, indoors and outdoors (in the summer) for the kids. During the summer day camp, kids have several choices of outings such as daily trips to the beach and/or park, and indoor activities with games and crafts, among other things. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are also very generous with prizes, snacks, and overall treats for the kids. Kids make friends and absolutely love going to camp. My kids often ask when I pick them up if they can stay longer at camp. That's obviously a good sign. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are also very flexible with parents and works with you if needed. They also communicate well with parents if any issue arises.Lastly, Gary (Mr. Williams), the owner, is always there overseeing everything... and I mean ALWAYS. He is always available. He practically lives there.Troy Belt Academy is a God-send for my family.
April 12 · Lourdes DempseyGary Williams is awesome with kids. My son is in his karate class and in the past has had issues with defiance. Gary knew exactly how to work with him. On top of running karate classes for age 5-adult, he has a before/after school program, where he will take kids to school and pick them up after. In the summer he has a summer camp that offers a ton of stuff for your kids to do.Gary is a great guy and I can't promote him and his business enough.
