★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been training with springs ATA for 3 years now and have enjoyed and felt like i have gotten alot out of my journey with them. They work super hard to not only train and promote physical wellness but work on training displine, honestly, integrity, communication, and leadership. All important values in everyday life. They are one of very few schools in Colorado who also train and treat their special ability and autism spectrum students with the same courtesy and compassion as the everyone else. They do an amazing job upholding family values and from day 1 I have always felt supported and encouraged by not only the staff but fellow students too. The team of instructors there are also very compassionate and ready to help and push you towards achieving goals and celebrating milestones. I very much enjoy the atmosphere and always leave the building feeling better than when I came in. I couldn't imagine training anywhere else. They always go above and beyond for their students and plan fun outings to continue to strengthen those bonds between the fellow students ,parents, and staff. I recommend this school also because they are a competitive school that still holds the philosophy that goes with martial arts.
January 30 · Adrianna P.UNETHICAL, OVERPRICED, UNCLEAR INSTRUCTIONMy family and I are military and moved to Colorado Springs to continue earning our black belts, but had a horrible experience with Ms. Noller and her ATA program. Ms. Noller has several policies that she chooses to enforce, but says that they are ATA requirements, which is a lie. These include a mandatory 1-year year minimum contract, mandatory credit card on file, and a mandatory WEAPONS requirement, which costs extra. I confirmed with ATA headquarters that these are not ATA requirements at all. These are just a few ways that Ms. Noller exploits more money from her customers. Additionally, because Ms. Noller had my credit card on file, she was able to charge DOUBLE my monthly rate THREE times during my 1-year contract. I ended up cancelling my credit card to get her to stop. This is when Ms. Noller told me that a credit card was "mandatory". It was a frustrating process to get refund/apply funds to the next month. I will say I did appreciate Ms. Noller giving me extra time to pause my contract when I had family health issues, so one of these instances was when my auto payments were turned back on. However, I was the one that caught this mistake, and this was the third time it happened.-OVERPRICED: Ms. Noller can charge what she wants but just be aware that we paid more for 2 people to participate at SPRINGS ATA than we did for our family of 5 in Florida where the cost of living was comparable.-SCAM: I was charged $149 for my black belt testing. Then, several months later I was charged $169 for my daughter's black belt testing. This was months ago and we still have not received our black belt's or certificates from Ms. Noller. Multiple emails were sent with the response of, "I’ll let you know when they arrive." When I reached out to headquarters I was told that Ms. Noller NEVER ORDERED THEM!UNCLEAR: My daughter and I had to learn 4 forms for our black belt in 6 weeks. Other ATA’s schedule 3 months between testing. However, testing with Ms. Noller is every 2 months. She does this because she charges a lot of money for testing, belts, and weapon purchases. So by scheduling testing more often Ms. Noller makes more money. This was not made clear to members so we were caught off guard and not prepared. After reaching out to ATA headquarters and our Florida ATA family, my daughter and I were FINALLY blessed with our black belts and FRAMED! certificates from our Florida ATA, NOT Ms. Noller (who we paid). Because of my story, my previous instructor in Florida is now making his own ATA even better by now framing all black belt certificates for his members in 2025. WOW!All this to say that while each ATA is able to create their own rules some are drastically different than others and I would absolutely NOT recommend any ATA that Ms. Noller is associated with. I hope my review will provide change with Ms. Noller and her Springs ATA, or at least open your eyes before you decide to join.
January 03 · H MThe Springs ATA curriculum teaches fundamental life skills such as discipline, respect and self-esteem. They take students as young as 2yo (and as old as me) and help to instill those fundamentals in each student. My son started with Springs ATA almost 3 years ago and is, with the encouragement and excellent instruction of their staff, soon going to achieve his Black belt. He has earned several first place medals in sparring at a National Tournament, and his self-confidence has grown. Having watched him progress, my passion for the martial arts has been rekindled, and I’ve recently begun training again after a 40 year layoff. My instructors have been helpful and encouraging as I work towards my goals, pushing me to get better but never demanding that I do something I’m not (yet) capable of. If you’re looking for a martial arts school that's fun and family oriented, Springs ATA is the place to be!
June 28 · Michael WirebaughI have been doing taekwondo since I was 13 years old. After graduating high school, I had to stop because I went into the military. I trained in a different style before I changed to ATA. I visited Springs ATA in December, and when I took classes, I loved everything about it. Even though I didn’t know this style specifically, the instructors made me feel very welcomed, very comfortable, and apart of the family. I loved meeting everyone there! Everyone is very talented. I love the sport so much and I miss doing it. Springs ATA is my favorite school that I have ever trained at. I have tried other ATA schools, and none of them captured my attention the way Springs ATA does. The instructors really work with you and your schedule. I wished I lived closer so that I could go to more classes more often! Hopefully soon I can get back on the mat! FAMILY STRONG
February 18 · Destinee NollerSprings ATA is a family owned and operated business and it has the family feel to it which I immediately appreciated. We enrolled our 5/8/10 year old. Most impressive about ATA was Sean, the instructor. He would have up to a dozen kids of all ages and was able to teach and coach each one according to their skill level and age. He was strict when he needed to be and also wanted the kids to have a fun practice. There was a time for discipline and a time for fun and he made sure both happened. They strive to instill character traits in the kids and there is a time before every practice where these are enforced. Traits like self-esteem, which is important for kids today. A few times there was miscommunication between us and the staff regarding schedule but we were able to discuss and there was resolution. All in all, a solid, family run business that has put a lot of effort into what they love.
