★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The adult martial arts program here is really impressive - both in curriculum and in the way instructors work with each individual student on their goals.I’ve been training with OYD for 6 months now. And I’m finding it’s an incredible way to train your mind and body to thrive in the modern world. Before joining, I was doing a mix of yoga, running, & weight training, but had hit a plateau and was looking for something different to help me stay fit and healthy.3 months of training with OYD helped me not only realign my body and calm my mind, but get exposure to a more holistic approach to self development. The instructors here care deeply about their students, and are incredible examples of what they teach. They’ve also built a really great community around their schools.Highly recommend OYD to anyone who’s curious about martial arts and/or looking for a mind-body practice they can grow long-term in.
April 08 · Lillian XiaoMy 10 year old son is a student at Oom Yung Doe. He truly enjoys attending class and learning from his instructors. He has gained skills in not only martial arts, but his confidence, focus and motivation to continue to learn and improve has sky rocketed since he started. The instructors are very kind, patient, calm and extremely welcoming. Watching their skills is breathtaking and very motivational. In classes, skills are gained in not only martial arts/ self defense, but in life skills, leadership skills, respectful behavior, being mindful and so much more that can be applied to success within the community.Watching my son through his journey l, myself in my mid 40's for the first time ever have become a martial arts student at Oom Yung Doe. I can not express enough how much I enjoy every class that not only works your body, but will help keep your mind sharp! I went from attending 1 class a week to 4 and wanting more! I have to add that attending Oom Yung Doe with my son has brought so much motivation and lifelong gains for the both of us! He gets so excited teaching his mom all his skills which I hope lasts forever!I recommend everyone to try out a class, you won't regret it!
February 08 · Debora TammaroWe spent the summer touring different Martial Arts places this summer for my 6 year old to attend: Oom Yung Doe was our first spot, and wow. They set the bar high. The instructor, Tyler is one of a kind. My son instantly felt seen by Tyler, and Tyler has some special magic with kiddos. What we really love about Oom Yung Doe is that they have a well rounded curriculum- it’s not just about body strengthening, or just about playing games. Tyler teaches them about body control, respect, listening, teamwork. They truly have figured out an amazing balance between all the things that are needed to make a great martial arts school.I can’t say enough great things about this school. My son has been taking classes for 2 months, and his improvement is impressive.
October 28 · Kaitlyn ByrneI’m very thankful for the opportunity to learn here - OYD in short teaches you how to be a better version of yourself through a very holistic training that’s functional, physical, and mental. After breaking my wrist, I had a long journey of healing, regaining mobility, and strengthening. After 9 months and a second surgery during that time, OYD has really helped with all of these aspects. So happy I can cook again, do pushups, and not be limited by my wrist anymore. The school and instructors are very attentive and customize the training to your unique needs (wrist limitations) and goals. Since there are 8 different types of martial arts to learn, you’ll never be bored during the lessons and you will definitely be challenged while helping yourself align your body and mind, even correcting things you didn’t think you could like decades of poor posture. Not only do I feel physically better than before starting OYD, I also feel much happier, sleep better, and definitely face life challenges much better. I’m starting to feel like my old self again, slowly chipping the rust off my joints.Highly recommend if you want to find a holistic approach to well-being, interested in body mechanics, or interested in martial arts. And don’t let your age or injuries stop you if you’re interested! Never hurts to come and test it out.
June 13 · Michelle MI absolutely love the strong community and the commitment from all the instructors to help students get better. I don’t think I ever experienced such thing from any school. They deeply care about you, which is really motivating and also makes you want to care for the school as well :) Thank you for such an outstanding example of great values!
