★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My 2nd grade daughter started martial arts lessons last year with Master Weiler, currently just received her green belt, which moved her up to the intermediate level. She loves the classes and just dedicated herself to becoming a black belt.I grew up doing martial arts, started with Aikido as a young child and later receiving a black belt in Hapkido. A lot has changed in the 30 years since I trained in Martial Arts, partly the difference in generational up bringing, the culture, and the change in image of Martial Arts (80s/90s Action Movies to MMA). Master Weiler adapts the old school into current times. He has a strong Taekwondo background with a mix of other martial arts and boxing. He incorporates his vast experience into lessons adjusted specifically for the development of children young and older. His beginner classes are geared for engaging with the kids, developing motor and reaction skills, making it fun but at the same time teaching them the basics of martial arts (Taekwondo focused), building discipline within the mind, body, and soul. These classes help the kids develop mental and physical skills that will help in sports and in everyday life. The intermediate classes becomes more serious, focusing on kata, developing strength and intermediate skills. His advanced classes focus on mastering advanced skills and gears toward self defense. It's been fun and a pleasure watching the kids grow under Master Weiler. He is a great instructor, very detail oriented, and is great with the kids. He's just an overall fun and genuine person, as well as his ohana (family).Master Weiler also teaches adult classes where he focuses on a variety of HIT (high intensity training), getting a good workout, while incorporating the fundamentals of martial arts.Ohana Martial Arts Center really is a place where the focus is family as the name states. Master Weiler, his family, and all the families and community definitely have a bond. I highly recommend this studio for kids of all ages and adults.
March 10 · Arthur T AkimotoWe joined in September and love this studio for our two very active boys. Our kinder has earned his first belt and is excited for every class. Our 4th grader already had 3 belts from another studio, so he tested into the intermediate class. We prefer Ohana for the smaller class sizes and individualized attention. My husband has multiple black belts and comments on how Master Seth is skilled in keeping kids engaged and learning correct form. He approves :) We're so happy this studio opened near our home.
January 16 · CharleenOhana Martial Arts Center is a new school opened up by Seth Weiler. As a former student of Instructor Seth at a different school for 6 years, I can vouch for his multitude of experience and knowledge in martial arts and teaching. Seth is the best martial arts teacher for people of all ages, because of his versatility and ability to create a fun atmosphere that you want to be a part of. He knows how to challenge each of his students by pushing them to their limits, while also making sure that trainings are fun and enjoyable. On top of his classes, he’s also super friendly and personable. He makes sure he spends time to get to know each of his students. A lot of the lessons he teaches in class are also definitely translatable to real life—I still think of his lessons of character, discipline and mental fortitude that have set me up for success today, ten years later. Seth has years and years of experience in martial arts and teaching, so I would highly recommend anyone with any interest to give his new school a shot!
September 09 · Trevor LeungI trained with Instructor Seth, when he worked for a different studio, from the time I was in elementary/early middle school until I was in high school. He not only made me like learning martial arts, but he helped me become a more confident and driven person. Each class wasn't just about honing technique, but also about building community with other classmates. In other words, it was super fun!! I left each class of creative and challenging activities feeling stronger and exhilarated. I'm so excited that he's now opened his own place! It's been almost exactly 10 years since I stopped practicing tae kwon do, but he recently invited some past students over... I was shocked at how much I remembered, but even more grateful because of how encouraging and patient Instructor Seth was to meet me at the point where I currently am, fitness-wise, while still pushing me to strive for just a bit more! And it was just as fun and fulfilling as ever. :)
September 08 · Emma KwokSeth has been instructing my daughter in Martial Arts for a few years now. He's definitely a fantastic teacher and my kid loves going to his classes. He's taught at other Martial Arts schools previously but this one is all his own
