★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently joined the YMCA in Cinco mainly for the childcare since I have a 9-month-old. I’ll admit, I had heard mostly negative things beforehand, but out of desperation I gave it a try and so far, my experience has been very positive. The baby room has always had plenty of staff on hand, and I’ve found the area to be clean and welcoming. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been friendly, which immediately gave me peace of mind. One thing that has helped our experience run smoothly is making sure my little one has a full belly and a fresh diaper before drop-off. It just makes things easier on the staff and my baby. I also try to show up with a smile and genuine gratitude for the service they’re providing because it truly goes a long way.Overall, I’m happy and grateful for the care my child is receiving here. Please keep it up YMCA!!I should also say the classes have been good and the equipment has been good too.
August 26 · Taylor PThe Monty Ballard YMCA has truly become a second home for our family and we’re beyond grateful for the impact it’s had on our son, Kyle. From the moment he joined the program, we saw something shift in him: more confidence, more joy, and a real passion for the game. And we know that’s largely because of Coach Scott.Coach Scott isn’t just a coach; he’s a mentor, a role model, and someone who truly cares about the kids he leads. He pours into them with patience, discipline, and encouragement. His words stick with Kyle long after practice ends, and it’s clear he sees coaching as a calling, not just a role.Thank you to the entire YMCA staff for creating such a positive, safe, and inspiring environment and an especially big THANK YOU to Coach Scott for being such a powerful influence in Kyle’s life. We appreciate you more than words can say. With gratitude,Kris Haney (Kyle’s proud parent)
August 02 · Legit WorksThe facility is nice and the front staff is welcoming, but UPPER MANAGEMENT is HORRIBLE. I’ve emailed, called, left voicemails, even copied the executive director—and after a MONTH, still no response about downgrading my membership. Ignoring members while trapping them in contracts is not honorable way to conduct business, especially for the YMCA, which claims to offer “flexible membership options.” This is the opposite of what they stand for. Please read the reviews before signing up. I would have really liked to call this place a second home for my family but now I cant wait until the annual contract expires to get out from this mess
August 26 · Patty RoyUpdated response:Thank you for your response. While I appreciate you taking the time to reply, I’d like to clarify that it is not my responsibility as a customer to follow up or report this issue further. Prior to writing my review, I had already brought this concern to the attention of your facility staff. As of today, the changing tables still have not been cleaned, which is extremely disappointing. I hope this matter is addressed promptly, as a clean and safe environment should be a basic standard—especially in areas used by families with young children.Initial review:The staff at this gym are always very friendly and helpful, which I appreciate. However, the cleanliness—especially of the changing tables—is seriously lacking. I’ve brought this up to staff before and was told someone would be informed, but the changing tables still haven’t been cleaned. They are consistently dirty, and unfortunately, my baby developed a rash after using one. It’s really disappointing that such a basic hygiene issue is being overlooked. No matter how kind the staff is, cleanliness should be a top priority—especially in family areas. I hope this is addressed soon.
July 23 · Rachel SolisThe air conditioning in the main machine/cardio room is frequently broken. This has been going on since last year. It is far too hot to safely work out. The Y does a lot of good, and should continue to do so. But they need to fix the a/c first.
