Master C is amazing!! My sons were taught by him for the past 4 years and it was wonderful to see them learn and grow. Master C’s level of patience and attentiveness is commendable. My reason for not giving this school a full 5 star rating is solely because of the unprofessional and disrespectful manner of his mother, Ms. Nather who runs the business. She’s seemingly nice until she realizes that you have a life and karate lessons don’t always come first. Don’t even think about quitting!!Planned a family trip before it was known that they would be up for belt test she got mad!!One occasion my oldest son signed up to do community service hours to fulfill his National Junior Honor Society commitment. The event was postponed due to weather issues and the rescheduled date happened to fall on the night he was supposed to have karate practice for the special demo team. Well once again Ms. Nather pitched a fit and literally got mad because my son was going to miss ONE practice. Mind you he never missed any other scheduled practices.Now the most important reason as to why I’m writing this review is because the level of disrespect and unprofessional attitude has just been too much. Almost a month ago my boys received their recommendation papers for black belt testing. When they realized how much I would have to pay for them to get their black belt they decided their interest wasn’t enough for me to put out that much money. I made it clear to them that if this was what they really wanted to do then don’t worry about the money I will make the payments one way or another. My oldest then said to me mom my interest in karate hasn’t been like it was when I started for about a year now. I was just hoping to at least get my black belt and then quit shortly there after. But I don’t want you spending that much money for me to just quit, it’s not worth it.Well I was honestly sad but appreciated the honesty because I could tell without them saying anything that they were no longer as interested as they once were. But then I felt a level of anxiety because I knew telling Ms. Nather would bring about drama and it sure did!!I had my oldest son explain to her in his own words why he wanted to quit and she did not receive it well which is fine. I talked to her myself a few days later and she still was not receptive of the reason. She told me that per my contract I had to give her a 3 month notice. I told her that I didn’t recall that in the contract but didn’t out up a fuss. I told her whatever she wanted to do was up to her. I can understand the loss of business big or small is disappointing.I decided to dig out my contracts that I had. I read them over and nowhere in the contract did it say I had to give 3 months notice. So I’m like ok well when I go back up to the school to get my boys pictures I will show her the contract.Yesterday I received a text from her stating that the pictures were in. I thanked her and informed her that I would come by to get them and I also mentioned that I had my contracts which expired almost a year ago and doesn’t mention anything about a 3 month notice. Well to say the least I was met with total disrespect. When I got to the school she told me that she could do what she want and asked me if I wanted to contact her lawyer. Struggling to keep my composure is said no because it’s not in black and white. Then came the I don’t even care anymore and she actually shoed me off with her hands like what I had to say meant nothing. She tried to redirect the conversation by saying how nice the pictures came out. To that I said yeah they came out nice, but I shouldn’t be seeing anymore payments deducted from my account right? To which she said with attitude yeah you don’t have to worry about that. Then she said there’s a whole group of you!! I don’t even care anymore. I was about to leave but stopped and said hold on!! What do you mean by a whole group of us. I’m here by myself for my sons only. Of course she didn’t want to elaborate on the statement she made and so I left.

Master C is amazing! My son has ADHD and he works tirelessly to keep my son on point. He gives him encouragement as needed. My son looks forward to class each day. Thank you for your commitment!
