She is learning how to work with others, how to respond to fear, and how to show respect (to others and herself). They meet each student where they are and accommodate big feelings in a safe and respectful manner. We are so happy our friend recommended this dojo and we recommend it to anyone interested in karate.
April 23 · Kaia SchindlbeckWe had an incredible experience at Family Martial Arts Academy! The instructors were so patient and inclusive with my four-year-old, who needed a bit of extra encouragement to try the class. They struck the perfect balance between being warm and welcoming while holding just the right expectations to support his growth and help him stretch his abilities. It’s clear that they are both skilled and thoughtful, creating an environment where kids feel supported and motivated. I highly recommend this place!
January 27 · McKenzie MillerAbsolutely the BEST, especially for children just starting out with karate/martial arts. We drive 20 minutes to attend because of the QUALITY of the instruction and the caring, dedicated and skilled Sen Seis. My son started when he was five and has felt like he belonged from the start. He has learned so much and continues to build his karate skills and confidence. The Sen Seis have backgrounds in education, occupational therapy, etc. and it SHOWS. We observed at multiple other martial arts locations before starting here. My son absolutely loves coming here and they go above and beyond to make children feel valued and families feel included. They are true experts. We love it here so much!

November 25 · Bryce VeronaMy family and I started training at Family Martial Arts about 18 months ago. We love the quality of the workouts, the flexible schedule, and most of all the culture! The instructors are kind and still firm, yet they always find time to laugh. We have made many friends here.
