★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Mr Mendoza and Mrs Anderson are so very professional in what they do. They have so much care and professionalism in the teaching of taekwondo and for the students that attend their classes. This place is clean, very affordable, family friendly, and just an overall happy/fun place to be, not only for kids but for adults as well. From the moment you enter you feel at home and from the moment you join you absolutely are welcomed as a Black Belt Academy family member. Thank you Mr. Mendoza ❤️ and Mrs. Anderson ❤️ We are looking forward to many years of teachings with you both!
April 26 · JasonFermin is passionate about our children, our community and overall well-being. One conversation with him will make you want to enroll your kids (or yourself!) for eternity. So many different programs are offered based on your level of expertise. Love having this business in my community!
April 26 · Emily BozarthMy daughter and wife joined a while ago to learn self-defense. Mr. Mendoza is an awesome instructor. He has a good balance of strong discipline and being relatable for the younger kids/students to learn well. He ensures everyone knows what they are doing, teaching age-appropriate training as the students move through the ranks. The tournaments are pretty cool, to watch the students perform and compete against other Dojo’s. However, they are not mandatory to attend. The Black Belt Academy teaches strong discipline, self-control, and personal defense, all while keeping all the students well-engaged. Not to mention a great cardio workout during the training. Keep up the great work, Mr. Menodza!
November 23 · Daniel AndersonYou did not just see my review b/c you replied to it 2 1/2 years ago when I left it! But since you want to be petty and post about my kids I'll let everyone know why I left 1 star! I especially can't believe you have the nerve to post about a child's health issue when you have no clue what you are talking about so I'll clarify that FIRST! She did have skull surgery at 11 weeks old (CRANIOWARRIOR) which has nothing to do with her learning abilities. She has excelled at everything in life. She is a brilliant child with straight A's and had some of the highest scores IN THE STATE on her ACAP! She is the hind catcher for her softball team and has softballs pitched to her everyday. So her head is not an issue! So maybe I need to refresh your memory... she was only 4 years old taking your class so just maybe that's why she was learning slower than most kids you teach! Now to Sarah! The day she tested, no she did not break her board and she sat down knowing she had failed. But then grand Master Chung said " I won't be here for Christmas so how about an early present?" And gave her another chance. He got out there and coached her and she broke it. Nor Sarah or us as parents thought she should have passed but he did pass her and when you were asked about the certificate several times you always told us that it hasn't came yet. The next week is when it all changed, some parent complained about her passing and you blamed her in front of the entire class for causing trouble when none of that was her fault!!! She was only 10!! You never treated her the same after that! Now to your "fees". I always paid on time but I was not going to pay you for weeks you decide not to teach! You would close 2 weeks for Christmas (not paying you for that) then the week before tournaments you would only teach the kids going and other kids would just sit there and watch (not paying you for that). YOU ARE MONEY HUNGRY! If you are going to preach the tenets of Taekwondo to these kids then you need to follow them yourself! INTEGRITY!!! *UPDATE* The response shows from just a few days ago because you changed your response! I still have the email from when you first responded 2 years ago! And notice I still did not post my opinion of you until you brought my kids into it! I even sent you a message about taking that off about my kids so you knew you were out of place! And you did say she had a head problem and was slow at learning...Maybe you need to reread your response. Bet you wouldn't say that to her face. Just as you never mentioned anything to us the years we came there about not paying you and lied to us about her certificate. I have no problem paying monthly fees to businesses that do me right. You chose to close for weeks at a time and you did not close for tournaments. I would take my kids that week thinking they were having class just to watch them sit there for an hour! And once again I'll tell anyone that wants to hear how you treated Sarah after that testing day which is why we left!
April 30 · Jessica DanielThis is a five-star experience! Mr. Mendoza is highly knowledgeable and takes a serious approach to developing not only skills in martial arts but also in developing the whole child. As a parent, I have witnessed growth and positive results from the high standards practiced in this academy.
