★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came to one of their free monthly self defense classes, not expecting to love it and continue for another 2+ years! I highly recommend this martial arts school in Burbank - Master Kyle is very welcoming and helps everyone to feel comfortable. I love the feeling of balance, confidence, and strength that Pa Kua gives me, and I recommend everyone to try!
December 24 · Sarah FraleyI've been taking classes here for almost 2 years and very much enjoy it and would recommend it for anyone of any age! I practice both martial arts and kickboxing and both classes offer a great balance of technique practice and mild-to-intense exercise. There's a big sense of community and a lot of focus on self improvement rather than competition. You concentrate a lot on learning the basics at the very beginning, but as you move up the ranks you start learning more complex techniques, awesome moves, and you get to do friendly sparring all without the pressure of memorizing moves. Definitely try out all the classes and find the best fit, all the ones I've tried are amazing!
December 17 · Daniela RodriguezMy teenaged son takes archery classes here, and he's improving in it so much. He loves the classes and instructors, and it's a confidence boost when he does well. It's been a great experience all around! I'd sign him up for more classes, and take some myself, if we just had unlimited time and money.
December 23 · Jessica KouglThis school of Martial Arts became as a safe community for my daughter where she is not only training her body and brain but also learns skills for self-regulation, respectful communication and collaboration. So grateful to Master Kyle and all other teachers!
January 08 · Haya AvetisyanI've been training martial arts in this studio for 7 years and hope this information is helpful for you to make decision. For who are looking for new martial arts class:- If you are looking for MMA-style lessons, it will be great for you to find a different gym or studio. We do intensive sparring, but it happens after you reach to the grey belt, and it took 1-2 years to reach that point. Pa Kua Martial Art here is less competitive, more focus on learning skills to control your opponent (Hapkido style Self-defense and grappling technique), and to improve yourself(Physique, skills, and mindset). Therefore, trainees here are mostly kind and respectful.- For me, I choose this Pa Kua Martial Arts because of it covers various aspect of martial arts. From standing to grappling, sometimes grappling while standing. Plus, the unique circular movement attracted me the most. If you are Anime-fan, author of Naruto created the concept of Hyuga clan based on this Martial Arts. If you already have experience on other marital arts, please join us, because we encourage you to incorporate your expertise into the Pa Kua.For those who are looking for Cardio:- I recommend you to take the boxing class. You will learn the boxing-style movement with music, and you will be able to sweat as you want. It's fun!- If you want to test your boxing movement to other people, I recommend you to take Martial Arts class together. For those who are looking for weapon class:- If you are interested in weapon, this studio is perfect place to practice it. The differentiator is this place cover various weapons. From bamboo sword to Pa Kua style claws(I took years to reach this point), it provides opportunity to experience myriads of unique and fun weapons.- First, you will start with Bamboo sword that feel similar with Japanese Kendo, but after that you will learn how to handle Chinese style sing-edge bamboo sword, double short swords and so on.Other than this, most of people visit this studio for archery class and kids class. However, I didn't experience those class, so I can't recommend it to you.Wish this review is helpful for you. I know this place has great trial class, so hope I can see you soon! :)
