When I moved to the STL area for graduate school, I joined White Dragon Judo. Initially, I was concerned about whether the instruction quality, atmosphere, and community would meet my expectations, but White Dragon Judo far exceeded them. I gained valuable skills, met many people, and formed some incredible friendships. My only regret is not attending practice more regularly during grad school. Now that I moved away, I'm eager to find a new dojo, but I can't help but reminisce about the wonderful experiences I had at White Dragon Judo. It is arguably the best judo program in the STL area.

Best judo club in the whole Saint Louis area. Classes focus on skill learning rather than jumping jacks and push-ups. By that I mean they spend the whole class time teaching you judo / martial arts and waste no time doing something else, such as random stretching or exercises. They are very professional in that they start on time and end on time. Water breaks are scheduled. The classes are planned out and follow a structure. They have beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. Even if a beginner comes to an advanced class, they will get tailored instruction for their level. There is a training system in place so that everyone improves in a systematic way at their own pace. There is a mix of hobbyists and serious competitors. Everyone is welcome and safety in training is emphasized. They have a website that is kept up-to-date about the schedule, which is very rare for most martial arts clubs. The club is a not-for-profit and it shows in the inexpensive tuition rates offered.

I began Judo 1 yr ago with no previous wrestling or grappling experience. They have done an excellent job making me feel comfortable and teaching me the foundation of Judo. I appreciate the number of classes and various times they have during the week so I can fit them into my schedule. I recommend White Dragon Judo to anyone looking to explore martial arts and self defense.

The best place to train Judo in the entire STL area. Fantastic coaches that are very experienced. They do a good portion of newaza too! Alot of space to train and do randori. The kids class is really fun to watch and they offer loaner gi's too. Several black belts attend class each week. And there is a strong following of regulars that attend. Very welcoming to the intense athletic types and older relaxed athletes.
