For residents of Missouri, particularly those in the Kansas City area, Warriors Academy KC is a standout choice for several compelling reasons. The academy’s diverse and practical curriculum is its primary strength. Unlike many specialized schools, Warriors Academy offers a full suite of disciplines, from Krav Maga and BJJ to kickboxing and MMA. This provides a comprehensive and well-rounded training experience that is applicable to a variety of real-world scenarios. A student's review highlighted the effectiveness of this training, noting that the BJJ classes are "so good" and that the Krav Maga instruction is practical and transformative. This versatility ensures that students can find a program that not only meets their fitness goals but also provides them with valuable self-defense skills.
The supportive and professional community is another significant factor that makes Warriors Academy worth choosing. Customer testimonials consistently praise the coaches for their dedication and honesty, as they push students to their best without being overly accommodating. This "tough love" approach is what leads to real results, both physically and mentally. The absence of a negative gym atmosphere is a key highlight, as it creates an environment where everyone feels safe and encouraged to train at their own pace. This makes the academy a great place for individuals who may feel nervous or intimidated by traditional martial arts gyms.
Finally, the school’s commitment to providing a flexible and accessible experience is a testament to its values. With a free introductory class, wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance, and flexible payment options, the academy removes many of the common barriers to getting started. The ability for families to train together, as highlighted by the spouse/family plan, is a unique benefit that makes it a great choice for parents and children alike. In a city with many options, Warriors Academy KC stands out for its unique blend of expert instruction, a supportive community, and a truly comprehensive approach to martial arts and personal development.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I started Krav here at 49 years old. I was out of shape at 225lbs, and had no idea on how to efficiently protect myself which was a sad place to be in. I noticed someone stated this isn't a class to get in shape, which is incorrect because I'm down to 195lbs, and feel better physically and mentally, than I have in years. I always wanted to try Krav but was timid going into a gym like WAKC. Initially it was tough for someone my age and my fitness level, but I will never regret going. Unlike going to a regular gym, I look forward to class days, and would go more if I lived closer. The coaches are tough, but only because they want you to succeed. They're not going to let you hide or sandbag, and just let you coast through classes. They aren't just there to get more to attend and pay, to get class counts up, they're going to be straight with you and that's a good thing. The BJJ classes are so good also, and definitely recommended if you're not into Krav. I hated not being able to go to more of those, and will get back to that soon, but again, I'm already going down there numerous times a week for KM.For those nervous about a gym atmosphere, there are no issues with egos or negative members at this gym. I didn't find the typical attitudes that you can get at other gyms, everyone is open to working with you and working at your pace. They have a spouse/ family plan that is a great deal. It's awesome to see parents training BJJ with their own kids, or husbands and wives coming in for a KM class together. It's a great program to build self-esteem, self-control, and spend time with your kids or spouse learning something that will actually benefit you in real life. With the schedule, you could hit a class in the afternoon or evening almost everyday of the week. Give them a try and I'm betting you'll get addicted to it just as I have. April 18 · Dylan Borns
- Good place to get some training but pay very close attention to the terms of your contract. They will not let you out of your contract even when your newly amended work schedule makes it difficult for you to attend. I was particularly disheartened by their lack of compassion to circumstances beyond my control. August 15 · Chris Emm
- We decided my son needed a little something more than just school . My son decided he would love to try jujitsu, I googled and reviewed many gyms ending my choice with Warriors Academy. The affordable 6 month contract for my son to experience discipline, friendship, leadership and more was just what we were looking for. Coach Frazz has been more than understanding and generous with my family and my sons needs. Coaching for the children of all age groups is very well maintained giving each child the opportunity they deserve. The gym and matts are very well kept making sure cleanliness is up to standards , making me feel safe to have my son roll around as long as he wants. February 04 · Daisy Koehn
- I was scheduled to meet with Shannon on Friday. He was responsive all week confirmed multiple times and says looking forward to see you. He did not show up nor bother to notify me he was not coming. He then sends a condescending text” where you not capable of walking to the back. I was scheduled at 5:45 due to a detour I arrived at 5:50. I sat in the lobby for 15 min not one person came and greeted me and Shannon wasn’t even there. The owner jumps in and consigns on his lack of professionalism. He first says class has started and the instructor was assisting students however class had not started. Then in the next message he says there was a 5:15 class. If you look on the schedule there is no 5:15 class and there were only a few cars in the parking lot.He then continues to send messages. I was very disappointed and looking forward to classes because I had actually met them before. I have worked customer service for years definitely not how you treat a customer. - My son Noble attends and has learned a lot at Warriors Academy. Coach Frass has been instrumental in Noble's development causing Noble to be more confident in himself and his goals. April 17 · Jamesia Manning
