What is Worth Choosing
Total Impact Martial Arts is an exceptional choice for anyone in the California region looking for a martial arts school that offers more than just a workout. The testimonials from real customers consistently highlight the academy's most valuable asset: its supportive and welcoming environment. The story of a parent who brought their three-year-old for a free trial and praised the instructors for being "very nice, supportive, patient and understanding" speaks volumes about the culture of the school. The sense of community is another key reason to choose this dojo. The fact that "even older kids came up to him and welcomed him" during a free trial shows that a culture of kindness and respect is actively fostered among all students. This inclusive atmosphere makes the initial step of trying a new activity much less intimidating for both kids and adults. The focus on instilling discipline and confidence, while making classes fun, is a winning combination. Whether your goal is to help your child with focus, learn self-defense, or get in shape as an adult, Total Impact Martial Arts provides a nurturing and effective environment. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took my 3 year old for the free trial session offered. Although he was just not ready to start the program, the instructors were very nice, supportive, patient and understanding. The other parents in attendance and their children were also very friendly and supportive. I can tell it’s a great place for kids and we will definitely be returning when my kiddo is ready :)
May 30 · Bree SmithTook my son for a free trial, and he absolutely loved it. So many kids even older kids came up to him and welcomed him. The instructors were so nice and great with my kid!
June 19 · Marie YanezWe had high hopes when we brought our 4- and 3-year-old children to TIMA for their free trial class back in March. The kids seemed to enjoy it, especially with the amazing instructor they had that day. Encouraged by their excitement and the positive first impression, I signed them up that same evening. However, things quickly took a turn. When we returned for the next scheduled Little Dragons class, we were surprised to find a completely different instructor. There was no communication or explanation about this change, which felt misleading. Despite the confusion, I proceeded with enrollment and paid $287 up front. We were handed uniforms immediately and joined the class. What we weren’t told, and only realized later ,was that this payment locked us into a six-month contract. Had I known, I would have seriously reconsidered, as the alternative month-to-month option cost $318. This was not clearly explained at sign-up.About seven weeks in, the original instructor (who we hadn’t seen since the trial) informed us there was an app to help the kids practice at home. We had no idea such a tool even existed, and it was never mentioned to us. After downloading the app, we found that the class schedule was not updated, which led to us showing up for multiple canceled classes—wasting our time and confusing our kids.We also discovered much later that the kids needed an attendance sheet to track their progress ,again, no one ever told us about this. We were two months in before we even found out it existed. The front desk staff added to the frustration. The woman there was not welcoming or communicative with parents, and I got the impression that her friendliness during sign-up was just to secure payment. After that, it felt like we were on our own.As someone who is currently eight months pregnant, I found it unacceptable that there was no adequate seating available for parents. I often had to sit on the floor during class, which was incredibly uncomfortable and inconsiderate. The facility itself was poorly maintained and did not feel clean. Eventually, we decided to stop bringing our children. Despite their initial interest, they grew disinterested and even reluctant to attend. There was little to no effort by the staff to engage or motivate them, and it became clear that this program was not a good fit.Overall, this was a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience. We feel that we wasted both time and money. TIMA should reconsider its approach with young children—especially in the Little Dragons program. A longer trial period, better communication, and more supportive staff would make a significant difference..
June 04 · BrittneyBe aware this place has little patience when it comes to teaching the kids. I took my 3 year old for the trial day to see if he liked the class and instead of it being up to us parents it’s really up to the instructor if they think they are ready. I have videos of my son during his trial class and it clearly shows him keeping up and being more attentive than some of the kids who are already enrolled. At the end of the trial the instructor said that he wants to see him in 6 months when he can stand more still which was very shocking due to what I just witnessed during the class with other kids and also coming in with the idea that they were going to work on discipline as their website states. It just seemed as if they weren’t ready to take on another student.I went ahead and looked elsewhere for a class that was ready to take on my son. I found a place nearby that didn’t hesitate, at the end of the class they said he was ready and did amazing. It was an eye opener to see the difference. His new class has double the amount of kids and a lot more patience and guidance while still being stern with them as well. Not only that but first day there my son was taught a lot more than what TIMA had to offer my son at the class he attended.TIMA has potential but they definitely need to work on their program for the littles.
June 13 · Monique EstradaWe started at TIMA a little less than 2 months ago. I looked around at other Taekwondo studios and none seemed like home. We did the trial class for my daughter (3) and honestly, she’s shy, so she wasn’t sure.We signed up. She now LOVES it! We needed something for for discipline and energy output, and this is perfect. There are two front desk ladies that are magnificent, Amanda and Susan. They are so helpful and knowledgeable! They let us ask as many questions as I could come up with, and we ended up signing up for the 1 year subscription because of the staff being incredibly kind and great with relations, it was very well explained to me that I could go month to month, 6 months or 1 year. I appreciated once again all the questions that were answered. The instructors themselves are absolutely amazing. They are patient and meet you where you at. I have asthma and I’m extremely out of shape, I’ve already lost weight, I can fit into old pants. I haven’t been able to fit into in just the last couple months, and they have been so patient. It’s nice to find a place that has mutual respect, yet pushes you to be better from where you’re at.Master Park, the leader of the studio, he’s patient, kind, and very disciplined. He wants to be a part of the growth of the students, and sees he really cares for every parent and child that walks through the door. It’s no wonder why the entire staff is as they are, he’s created a wonderful culture at the studio.I would give this place 10 stars if I could, but alas, I’m only afforded 5 😅 so 5 it is! I highly suggest doing the trial class they offer and then signing up!
