What is Worth Choosing
For those in the Florida region, choosing a martial arts academy is a significant decision. The Tampa Bay Martial Arts Academy stands out for several compelling reasons. As a local business, it is deeply invested in the community and its members. A key factor that makes this academy a top choice is the personalized attention each student receives. As noted by a long-term student, the classes are small, allowing for one-on-one coaching with the owners. This personal touch ensures that every individual, from a child just starting out to an adult seeking a new fitness challenge, receives the guidance they need to excel. This level of attention is often hard to find in larger, more commercial gyms and schools.
The academy's commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment is another major draw. It is described as a "no-judgment environment" where people feel comfortable and encouraged. This is crucial for students of all ages, as it fosters confidence and a willingness to try new things without fear of failure. Parents, in particular, will find this a key reason to enroll their children. As one review highlights, the academy treats each child with respect and never does anything that "degrades the child." Instead, they focus on teaching respect, manners, and focus—essential life skills that complement the physical training.
Beyond the physical and character-building aspects, the Tampa Bay Martial Arts Academy also focuses on community and fun. They go beyond the typical class structure by offering educational field trips and outings to local parks and the beach. This makes the experience much more than just a class; it becomes a social and educational activity that helps children build a sense of belonging and camaraderie with their peers. This unique blend of disciplined training, personal attention, and community engagement makes the Tampa Bay Martial Arts Academy a truly exceptional choice for anyone in the Florida area looking to start or continue their martial arts journey. It’s a place where you can not only get a great workout but also become part of a supportive and respectful community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been attending the Tampa Bay Martial Arts Academy for about a year now for the kickboxing fitness classes. I absolutely love the classes and the owners. The classes are small so I get one on one coaching with the owners and it’s a friendly/no judgement environment. I will keep coming to their classes until they close down forever (which I hope never happens). They moved to a different location, which is closer to my home and they extended the amount of fitness classes. I’ve even noticed a difference in my physical experience based on the workouts we do. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Solomon!

August 08 · Jim BarlowAll 3 of my boys have been involved in the after school program here. Absolutely love it! Helped them all with confidence. The structure and discipline have been wonderful in helping their character development. Highly recommend.
August 06 · Mama BaroneI was at Apollo beach recreation center today between 2 and 3:00. While I was there the Tampa bay martial arts academy was also there allowing a group of kids to play. There is a park area, basketball area, and a trail to jog or walk your pets on. It's a quite large area. Two women were watching the kids. My complaint is against the older women who I presume was in charge.I have never met her and I know nothing else about this school, but as someone looking in from the outside I was worried. What happened: The kids were all playing in different areas and doing different things. I understand that it's hard to watch that many kids at once so maybe there should be rules restricting what parts of the park they can go to so they can be watched easier. Or, maybe more adults should accompany them next time. As I was sitting at a picnic table I noticed one little girl slowly walk away towards the trails. She saw a man walking a dog all the way on the other side so she walked over to him to pet his dog. He was not motioning to her. I was worried as no one was watching her and she was so far away. I told this women about the little girl. She immediately jumped up and started screaming for the girl. She grabbed her by the arm and was absolutley belligerent towards her. The girls was probably 5 or 6. Instead of calmly telling her the dangers of what she did she instead was aggressive and emotionally scarring. She proceeded to yell for her other students to get in the bus so they could leave. She stopped to continue to yell and scream at this girl right in her face. Adults know better than to talk this way to one another. You'd expect someone who's taking care of your children while you're gone to have more compassion and gentleness when dealing with little ones. She did all of this in front of other parents who were there. We were all SHOCKED at her behavior. I can't imagine how she behaves when strangers aren't around watching. It's a scary thought. I cannot rate them based on the training that goes on. However, I would never want to hear my child is being talked to and handled this way. Parents should be cautious about leaving their children here. Maybe if this little girl was in boot camp and this women was her drill sergeant it would be acceptable behavior. That's not the case though.
