July 23 · mark fetterMy son started a few months before he turned 6 years old. He was quiet and shy with very little confidence. Before we knew it, he broke out of his shell, was training 3-4 days a week and climbed the ladder from a white belt to a Purple Belt with 1 stripe! He was confident and became a mentor for newer students within only 3 1/2 years of training. When we left the Dojo, he was still the youngest of 25 members, but had risen to the top 3 as far as rank! Sensei Michael was a huge reason why! He pushed my son, but also supported him anytime he struggled. He gave my son the confidence he needed to not only excel in Karate, but branch out and try other sports. Unfortunately we are not able to attend anymore because he is playing basketball and travel baseball and time doesn't allow it. Sensei still supports my son. He has come to see him play baseball and will drop by once in a while to see him (and our family). We have a great relationship because he is a great guy! My son hopes to return at some point and complete his black belt! He still has time, since he only 10, and the main reason we would go back is Sensei Michael. He is a great instructor, a better person and we recommend that you see for yourself how valuable it is to train with Michael!
February 26 · Richard FarinaThe years of experienced instruction are reflected and on point in every corner of martial arts they teach here. Their rates are the BEST in the area for working families. They teach self-defense, kata and Escrima stick defense. If you're a busy parent and you know your child would get a lot out of karate this a wonderful dojo. The adult classes are extremely beneficial for beginners and novices as well.
February 08 · J. Austin GentryMy son has been at this dojo for a few months. I chose this dojo after visiting a few in the area because everyone was very kind and welcoming during his trial classes, and I was impressed with the quality of instruction. Sensei has a wealth of knowledge and knows how to reach and teach all ages and levels. Students are encouraged to work together to help each other practice and improve. Learning karate here is engaging and fun. It is a great community!
December 11 · Donald LysingerI’ve been practicing martial arts for a long time. I enjoy the workout it provides and it doesn’t sacrifice flexibility. The variety of movement helps keep me young. Shuto Karate is a very good option as the pricing is reasonable and the sensei expands the training outside the rigid karate training I’ve seen in other schools.
