Shao-Lin Center For Martial Arts Introduce
For residents of Westlake, Ohio, and the surrounding communities, the Shao-Lin Center For Martial Arts represents a unique and powerful opportunity to learn authentic martial arts. We are not a typical sports or fitness school. Our focus is on the traditional teachings of Kung Fu and Tai Chi, emphasizing self-defense, personal development, and a holistic approach to wellness. Under the guidance of our expert instructor, Si-gung Frank, students of all ages embark on a journey that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. We believe that true strength comes not just from physical prowess, but from a disciplined mind and a resilient spirit. Whether you are looking for an engaging activity for your children that builds confidence and respect, or you are an adult seeking a way to improve your physical and mental health, our center offers a welcoming and challenging environment.
Our mission is to pass on the invaluable skills and wisdom of these ancient practices. As one satisfied parent shared, enrolling their two boys at the Shao-lin Center was one of the "best decisions we've ever made for them." This sentiment is echoed by many who have experienced our unique teaching style. Si-gung Frank is an instructor who is "firm yet patient," and knows how to make training fun, all while instilling the deep principles of martial arts. We teach our students that self-defense is a last resort, but we provide them with the tools and confidence to handle themselves if they ever find themselves in a bad situation. This isn’t just about learning techniques; it’s about building character, self-esteem, and the internal fortitude to face life's challenges with grace and strength.
The Shao-Lin Center For Martial Arts is conveniently located at 29694 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145, USA. This central and accessible location makes it a prime destination for martial arts enthusiasts throughout the Ohio region. We have made it a priority to ensure that our facility is welcoming and easy to access for all members of the community. We are proud to offer a wheelchair accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair accessible parking lot, ensuring that everyone can join our classes without barriers. Inside, you will find a clean and professional training space, complete with a restroom for your comfort and convenience. The design of our center is meant to facilitate a focused and disciplined learning environment where students can fully immerse themselves in their training. We accept credit cards, providing a convenient and modern way to handle payments for our services.
The accessibility of our location is a practical benefit, but the true value of our center lies in the community and the training experience. We are not a large, impersonal gym. Instead, we are a close-knit community where every student receives personalized attention and guidance. Our instructors and students alike are part of a supportive family, encouraging one another to push their limits and achieve their goals. As one long-time student noted, training at our center is "awesome," and they look forward to classes every day. They emphasize that while the work is hard—with lots of sweating and aching muscles—you will consistently "see and feel yourself becoming more balanced, more toned, and more comfortable in your own body." This transformative process is what sets our school apart from others in the area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My two boys have been going to the Shao-lin Center for two and a half years and it's one of the best decisions we've ever made for them. Si-gung Frank is an excellent instructor who is firm yet patient with the kids while having fun with them too. This isn't a sport/fitness martial arts school. Si-gung teaches kung fu for self-defense, stressing it's always the last resort yet giving the kids the tools to handle themselves if they ever find they are in a bad position. I have seen my kid's confidence levels and self-esteem grow as they have progressed in this martial art. There is nothing better than seeing the pride on your kid's face when they successfully pass a sash test or figure out a new skill.
December 04 · Steve HollyI have been studying at the Shao-lin Center for Martial Arts for a little over two months now. I am a student in both the Tai Chi and Kung Fu classes, and I absolutely them. I attend classes there three days a week and look forward to them on each of those days. Training there is awesome! Mind, Body, Spirit: every part of you is nurtured, honed, and made better. It's hard work. There is lots of sweating and muscles ache, but every day you will see and feel yourself becoming more balanced, more toned, and more comfortable in your own body. Si-Gung Frank is amazing as well! I spent months looking for the right place to study, with the right teacher, and when I read about the way he teaches on the school's website, I knew I had found the both. You will not be coddled, you will have to work, but you will be encouraged and skillfully instructed along the way. The other instructors and students are also great! So, if you're thinking about attending, just do it!

August 02 · Michael GulleyI called this place, really interested in taking some classes. Just moved to Cleveland and made it a goal to dedicate my time here to learning as much as I could and really developing a skill in martial arts. The instructor answered and asked if I was was in a different city because of the area code on my phone, I explained I was in Cleveland and proceeded to ask a couple more questions about his background and experience, as I enjoy to communicate directly with whom I will be learning from, the instructor rudely interrupted me and said to go to the website to find the information and hung up the phone on me. Obviously with him being the person in charge he is free to handle potential customers however he chooses but as that interested customer I would say he was very arrogant, unprofessional and shouldn't be teaching any kind of class, especially one such as a Kung Fu that is all about discipling oneself.
