★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was my first time School Of Martial Arts to practice yoga. All my interactions were super positive and friendly and kind people working there, plus a lovely large bright room for yoga! I highly recommend.
July 11 · Mari KohnA notable location in West Los Angeles (WLA) is led by Sifu Ryan Scott, a martial artist and spiritual instructor who delivers his teachings with dedication. His demonstrations of T’ai Chi movements resemble the graceful motions of birds, particularly in forms like "White Stork Cools Wings,” Sifu exemplifies these animal-inspired postures through his practice. His staff members, Katherine, Davia, and Sam are also competent instructors. The studio, known as the dojo, features a Zen-inspired décor with water fountains and spiritual books, creating an atmosphere of tranquility. I began practicing T’ai Chi for physical therapy following a knee injury in January 2024, which contributed to my recovery and ability to walk again within months. Additionally, Sifu Scott offers self-defense training in other martial arts such as Kung Fu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The dojo serves not only as a place for practicing techniques but also as a space for personal growth and mindfulness, fostering a supportive community among students and instructors.
June 03 · Natasha JokicSuch a great place! My son who never loved any sports we put him in - truly loves coming to martial arts class! Take the free lesson they offer and you'll see what I'm talking about. Everyone there is so nice and understanding - but also focused on helping the kids gain confidence through their own achievements :)
November 01 · Chris GreenleafWe've been at School of Martial Arts West LA for just two months, and I can't believe the positive changes I've seen in my almost 5-year-old! Initially, he struggled to follow directions, stay focused, and sit still during class, but the instructors were incredibly patient and never gave up on him. They continued to guide him, and now he’s so much more focused and engaged in class. He even earned his first white belt in his Wushu test! We’re beyond thrilled with his progress.I also love that it’s a membership program, allowing us to attend more classes to practice when we can. I truly believe martial arts is a practice that benefits both body and mind. It builds valuable habits, just like they say at the beginning of every class: 'Gong fu is discipline of my body and mind. I am disciplined, have self-control, confidence, concentration, patience, and try as hard as I can at everything I do, both in and outside of the dojo.'I've even seen him doing better at school too and we couldn't be happier.
November 01 · Simone HanGreat, fun environment! Had a relaxing but energizing yoga class. They are located on the second floor. A little bit of a challenge to find the entrance if it is your first time. Nice front desk staff.
