★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My son started at Pruter's Taekwondo when he was just 5 years old, and after one year in the Future Kids program, we couldn’t be happier with his progress! The instructors are patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping each child grow both in skill and confidence. We have seen tremendous improvement in his focus, discipline, and coordination — and most importantly, he has so much fun while learning. The environment is welcoming, structured, and very family-friendly. We are grateful for the positive impact Pruter's Taekwondo has had on our son and look forward to many more years here!Highly recommend for any parent looking to get their child started in Taekwondo!
April 29 · Tim SmithMe and my family have had a great experience at Pruter's Taekwondo! My dad and I both trained here for 13 years before I went to college, and my mom and sister also did it for a while. I continue to go back when I am home for breaks. The Pruters played a critical part in my upbringing both in regard to character development (integrity, perseverance, respect, etc.) and physical development (hand eye coordination, endurance, speed, etc.). Some of my best memories and friends were made at Pruter's Taekwondo!
January 14 · Eagan KirkPruter’s Taekwondo has been the biggest impact on my life. When I first started with the Pruter’s I was 11 years old. I received my first black belt at the age of 14 and trained with them for many years after. Fast forward to my adulthood and now I have children of my own. I wanted them to learn the art along with the confidence and respect Mr. and Mrs. Pruter taught me. My children have grown and learned so much from being apart of their taekwondo family, now they are getting ready to receive their black belts as well! Pruter’s Taekwondo is not just a martial arts studio, it is more like a second home to our family.
January 14 · Mykala McIntyreThis happened a few years ago but I think it needs to be said. I had started out taking the normal classes for a good few months before I started the Peak classes. For a year-year and a half, everyone was super nice. Then, I started to feel the favoritism. They always put special treatment on specific students in Peak and would be mean and rude to you if you did the same things those people did. I was called argumentative, rude, disrespectful, and a number many other things in that class. I would see them verbally abuse a couple other students when the parents weren’t in the building. If you cried, you were weak and should only cry about broken bones or blood. In the height of me not being liked, I was told to sit out with my sparring gear on so they could get in a “good practice”. Another student volunteered to sit out in place of me, and when I came on the mat they told me to go sit back down and told him to get back on the mat. They told me they had problems with me and gaslit us. I was told my pushups were terrible and my chest needed to be flat on the ground for each one (we always did 50). When my chest was on the ground, it needed to still touch the ground. When I do sit-ups, my legs don’t stay straight or still (I tried and still do try) and when I explained this I was told I was back talking and they didn’t need excuses only a “yes ma’am/sir”. I was also told I was too skinny and needed to gain weight. When I pulled out of classes, I still had to pay 2 months. Even during the pandemic I still had to pay to keep going when they opened up again. (That was almost 2 years!) don’t bring your kids here. And all of this was NOT miscommunication. This was firsthand experience.
January 10 · ChaiTeaBeing in Pruters taekwondo was the WORST decision I ever made. The teachers are rude and they try to humiliate the students. I am an experienced taekwondo player with over 9 years of experience. I placed as state champion and top #5 in the country multiple times in Mexico. Still, they treated me as if I was a beginner - saying my technique wasn’t good. Furthermore, they made me spar a white belt who was way taller, older and heavier than me (I’m a girl), before I was able to purchase updated gear. So, all I had was my headgear and chest plate - definitely wasn’t a fair fight and could have been dangerous. Also, I bought gear from them and it took more than a month to arrive. Every time I tried to contact with them, they ignored me until I went to the establishment and still they were disrespectful and demeaning. My host parent was so upset about the way I was being treated, they intervened and told the Pruters not to talk to a minor like that. If you’re considering this studio, my advice is to be careful and think twice before trying this school.
