March 28 · Ermeo AgustinI am new to studying martial arts — and taking it up as an adult was quite intimidating. The team at Providence Aikido was very welcoming and patient with me. Also a bonus of learning Aikido is that Sensei David’s lessons and wisdom in the dojo seem to carry over into my everyday life! I am grateful to have found Providence Aikido - it’s a really great place to be and really terrific people to practice with too!
January 31 · Jenny DI am happy that I chose to start my martial arts journey with Providence Aikido. Since the first day of class, the instructors and students have been welcoming and patient. This really is a supportive community and there is room for everyone! You will learn throws, rolls, how to escape from someone grabbing your arms, hands or clothes, and hand grab techniques. The instructors here have decades of experience, and they are approachable and very knowledgeable in Aikido tradition. You will have the opportunity to work with David Halprin Sensei, 7th dan (7th degree black belt), who earned his rank in the Aikido World headquarters in Tokyo. I also like that we have female instructor seminars! This is a very special place, and we are fortunate to have it in Providence.
February 02 · NinaDare has been great with my kids. The classes have really sparked an intrest in martial arts for my two kids.
March 28 · Christopher GarrisonI practiced at Providence Aikikai for about a year before going off to college. Classes are a perfect combination of fun, educational, and relaxing. Whether you want to get into Aikido or continue practice in a new dojo, I would highly recommend.
