★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Sensei Rupert is simply the BEST teacher. My son loves to go to karate every single day and he loves his Sensei. He pays equal attention to all his students and make every class full of learning but equally interesting for students. We are so grateful that we found such an amazing karate teacher.
April 08 · Gayatri desaiMy two daughters are learning Karate in this academy (Prince Martial arts). Mr.Sensei Rupert is one of the finest teachers in Karate. My daughters love every single karate class and its all because of his way of teaching. He is a great teacher and knows how to bring discipline and focus on true values of life. We are very fortunate and grateful to know a great teacher like him.
June 08 · suba SMy son Devin has been a student of Sensei Rupert's for 12 years. He started when he was in kindergarten . He is now an assistant Karate instructor and second degree black belt at Prince Martial Arts. Sensei has taught him respect and the values of hard work. I would not call this a run of the mill karate school where belts are given to children that have not earned them. When your child advances, it will be because they deserve it. I am not saying that they don't have fun. Sensei includes games in the workouts that the students truly enjoy. Often I am complimented on my sons politeness and work ethic. I feel that much of the credit belongs to Sensei Rupert. My son went from a pudgy kindergarten kid to a strong, hard working and confident young man thanks to Prince martial Arts.
June 12 · John PietzI am so surprised that I am the first to review Prince Martial Arts. Training with Mr. Rupert is more than just karate. Bridgewater area parents will have a strong partner in the most important education their children will ever receive -- that of character. There are so many influences working against parents in their hopes and dreams for their children; Mr. Rupert is a powerful positive influence in the lives of young people. He teaches respect for the body and mind, respect for those "in their winter years" and even chivalry. Regarding self-defense -- he is the real deal. He can be brutally honest about the dangers out there, but that honesty is followed by real world, effective training in defense. There are thousands of "colored belt factories" out there, just cranking out belts for cash. A black belt from Prince Martial Arts Academy is a force to be reckoned with. If the reader needs any further convincing -- we do not live in the area but drive from Bethlehem, PA (even with motion sickness issues) just to continue our training with Mr. Rupert.
December 14 · Jennifer ColeI didn't realize just how mediocre this place was until I experienced other martial arts places. If you want to learn the same basic things over and over, this place is for you. If you want to learn pretend self defense that doesn't really work, this is for you. The instructors basically go limp after pretending to attack you, giving you the false sense that if someone throws a punch, you can effectively stop it or even throw that person over your shoulder. You'll also spend a good deal of time learning the basic stick strikes of Arnis, while never moving on to do much as an approach to how to use it in combat or in the style of the martial art. It's more like the sensei watched his own 30 minute video of "intro to Arnis," and that's the only info he'll ever pass on to you.If you want someone to babysit your kid for a little less than an hour a day, I guess this isn't a bad place. If you want to learn self defense or discipline, or anything practical, do yourself a favor and find a better place. I regret all the years I spent here and not actually learning real martial arts.
