★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you are looking for a special place for your kids or entire family to not only learn martial arts, but also to learn life skills and values that will extend to the rest of their lives, then look no further than Pride Martial arts! Our family have been at Pride Martial Arts (PMA) since early 2018 and it's about time I write a review. Our eldest son Nathan started at PMA at 5 years old in the Tigers program. He was shy and had separation anxiety. He had not done any other sports or extracurricular activities yet. We tried PMA for a week and were sold. Whether it was a large class one day vs a small class another day, we were so happy to see instructors that were teaching our son not only martial arts, but life skills, self-defense and core values like respect, self-discipline, honesty and so much more. And most importantly, he was having fun and enjoyed coming to class, including sparring. A year later our son joined the Leadership program, which allowed him to take more advanced classes like Leadership and Tricking, and an unlimited number of classes per week. He eventually started to compete in tournaments and continued to thrive and grow further. What was once a shy and quiet boy, blossomed into a skilled, confident and strong young man. Fast forward to today, our 12-year-old son is a 2nd degree Black Belt, ATA Martial Arts Champion (5x World Champion, 10x District Champion and 10x State Champion). All thanks to this amazing academy. Our youngest son also joined several years ago and is on his way to becoming a Black Belt next year. My wife and I joined PMA in 2022, competed and earned several State and District Champion titles, and became Black Belts recently as well. We could not be more proud and grateful for what PMA has done for our entire family!PMA has weathered many storms (e.g. pandemic, economic downturn, staffing changes, etc.), but it has persevered. Their commitment to our kids and the community is a rare gift that should not be overlooked, especially with so many other martial arts schools in it more for the money than their students. I'd like to especially thank the owner, Master Lizbeth Ahn, for all she has done for my family. She truly cares about using martial arts to teach our kids good values and to become the best versions of themselves. Nathan would not be a World Champion without her belief in him, her detailed training and support. We believe in her vision for PMA and look forward to many more years of growth for our family.
June 18 · Alvic PajeWe have been a member of the Pride family for seven years. Today our child became a Second Degree Black Belt. The pride in Pride Martial Arts is real. You get what you pay for and with Pride it is first class!!! Yes I could of bought a new car after paying tuition for seven years but new cars don't last forever. The skills Sean teaches to his students last a lifetime. His patience and his pride in each of his pupils is real . He is a world class instructor and person both on and off the mat. He , his mother , and his partner all believe in what they do. Therefore the students do as well. Thank you Team Pride for all you do.
May 25 · Eli GeorgeYea, there are many Taekwondo schools out there but, my grandson has been studying here for 2 1/2 years. I have been watching every practice session since he was a white belt. The instructors here are consistently teaching next levels for all their students, with such good instruction that they intern become teachers here and other places because they were taught extremely well. What I like most of all is, in the teen to adult class, you have teenagers up to mom's and dad's learning this art of martial arts. And it doesn't matter where you enter, in the color belt class, because you learn right along with all of them like you were always a part of it.As for their competitive side, they have such an awesome group of teams that compete in many A and B tournaments and I'm never surprised when they come home to Eastlake with medals on their chest and the pride they have achieving them in other tournaments. This is only because of the instruction they receive here. The owner and his wife has Senior Master Berry and his wife Master Ahn are both incredible teachers of this art and have devoted their lives to teaching thousands of students. So if you're asking me, this is the place you want your children and you to come learn a very excellent martial art. Peace
June 05 · Ed & SonsWe started our son in January when he was 4-years-old and I’m very happy with the staff and the whole program. DJ’s been learning so many skills from self-discipline, social skills, defense skills, etc. I’m very impressed with all the instructors of the schools, Mr. Clements, Ms. Gozo, Ms. Sophia, Ms. Chanelle, Mr. Caimol, along with the assistant teachers-they all do a wonderful job at not only keeping the children engaged but the patience and taking the time with each of their students, you can tell they truly care about teaching the little tigers!
August 02 · Sarah EsendenciaMy 6 year old daughter started going to Pride about a month ago and we just love it! Staff is professional. Classes start on time. Huge amount of people and kids coming to learn. They keep it all safe with mask wearing and taking temperature before entering the class.I can't say enough good things about it.And make it all worth it.The instructors are fantastic! Mr. Lara is one of the best. He keeps the little ones totally engaged from beginning to end. He is super energetic and loves what he does.I've been trying to find a place for myself to practice Aikido, but now I am seriously considering giving Takewondo a chance.I recommend Pride 100%. The cost pays off for the value you get. The discipline they teach the kids on every single class is remarkable and an experience kids won't forget.
