Master Lee's Talium-Irvine Introduce
For those in California seeking a martial arts school that offers far more than just physical training, Master Lee's Talium-Irvine is a community built on discipline, friendship, and personal growth. Situated in the heart of Irvine, this Taekwondo and self-defense school provides a unique and transformative experience for students of all ages. Under the guidance of International Grandmaster Lee, the dojo is a place where students come for an "athletic challenge" but discover "so much more"—a vibrant community and an extended family. This sentiment is echoed by many who have found not just a place to work out, but a home away from home.
The core of Master Lee's Talium-Irvine's philosophy is the belief that martial arts training is a lifelong journey. A review from a long-time student, who started their journey at 49, perfectly captures this ethos. They were told their "journey had just begun" after their first black belt test, a statement that turned out to be a massive understatement. The school fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement, where age is not a barrier to achieving one's goals. This dedication to lifelong learning is a key reason why students remain loyal and committed to their training over many years.
The quality of instruction at the school is consistently praised as being "excellent" and "superb" for both kids and adults. The Masters and instructors are not only highly skilled in their craft but are also passionate and caring teachers who are dedicated to the success of every student. They create a fun and engaging environment where students can thrive, making the training process enjoyable and entertaining. As one parent noted, their kids "love their Masters and instructors here" and find it "fun and entertaining to see them exercising and getting trained." This positive atmosphere is crucial, especially for younger students who may be new to physical activities.
Master Lee's Talium-Irvine is particularly well-suited for families. The school's founder, Grandmaster Lee, believes that "the family that kicks together sticks together," a motto that underscores the dojo's commitment to strengthening family bonds. The programs are designed to be a shared experience, allowing parents and children to train together and support each other's progress. For kids who might not be into outdoor activities, Taekwondo at Master Lee's offers an excellent opportunity for physical exercise and social interaction. It's a structured and safe environment where they can build confidence, discipline, and focus while having a great time. The fact that the instructors "care about students" is a huge reassurance for parents, knowing their kids are in good hands.
The school also offers the flexibility of online classes in addition to their onsite services. This is a modern and convenient feature for busy Californians, allowing students to continue their training from the comfort of their own homes. Whether you prefer the traditional dojo experience or the convenience of remote learning, Master Lee's Talium-Irvine has a program that can fit your lifestyle.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When I first met International Grandmaster Lee, a friend & I were simply seeking an athletic challenge. What we got was so much more! A family, a whole community & - oh, yes - the athletic challenges we were seeking. What I got out of it is lifetime friends & extended family & amazing discipline. When I finished my 1st black belt test & we were drinking tea, I believe it was Master Kim who remarked that my journey had just begun. I was 49 at the time.THAT was an understatement. The instructors have always been excellent & now, from what I've observed, they're simply superb whether with kids or adults. As Master Lee said then (& probably still does), the family that kicks together sticks together.
September 23 · Joan WongMy kids started their training lessons a few months ago, and they love their Masters and instructors here. It is fun and entertaining to see them exercising and getting trained by the Masters who care about students. Two lessons a week seem like a good opportunities for the kids to spend time with physical exercise if they are not into outdoor activities.
June 02 · Jeonghun NohAfter training at Talium for 2 years, I could write volumes on why it is a great place. I'll spare you the time it'd take to read all that and bring it down to two simple reasons why Talium is great:1) The Masters and Instructors - every single one of these guys genuinely cares about not just your talent or progress in taekwondo, but they care about you as a person.2) I honestly believe there is something for everyone here. Whether you are just interested in the fitness aspect of taekwondo, or you're absolutely hard core about training, they will find a way to make class work with your goals. But perhaps the most telling aspect: before every belt test they ask you if you have any suggestions for how to improve the school, I've only ever written "I wouldn't change a thing."I hope you'll forgive my gushing, but Talium is really a great place for both adults and kids.
April 10 · Roger GreenePossibly the Best in the OC. My kids went to Il Do to get their black belts. We change to Talium as friends had their child enrolled there. Since changing, I have been very impressed with their program. First you notice there is a high percentage of girls there, 25--40% of the class, and they are really good, better than the boys. Second, you notice the quality of the students participating--my daughter was one of the top black belts as first degree at Il Do, here she is below average and needs to work harder. And finally, you notice Grandmaster Lee and his instructors. They are top notch. The masters observe and correct the students continuously. They pay attention to the small nuances in the moves and students perfect them as they get their testing patches. Also, they don't do kendo there. Instead they teach Korean sword play--Hai Dong. Kendo at Il Do is very mickey mouse using a foam sword and not having any master teaching it. Hai Dong is quite serious, using wooden swords and having a master teach it. The moves are beautiful and precise. I could not be more satisfied in my choice to change dojos, and I thank Grandmaster Lee for establishing such a fine taekwondo studio as is Talium.
May 01 · William C NeeThe program is very good, but I wish I was informed about Testing fee (belt upgrade) during the registration. Every 2 or 3 months there is a test and the fee range between $50 to $70.
