★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My family has been training here. It took awhile to find a dojo that worked for us. We wanted a place that was serious about learning a martial art but also fun and supportive. This place is that and more. Sensei Matt and Sensei JP are skilled instructors who really want to see their students excel while keeping class fun. They encourage you to try and push yourself and their style is very positive. We are always upset when class ends as the time passes by so quickly. I would encourage anyone looking to get into martial arts to give this place a try.
May 08 · Neil BI found out about Main Street Martial Arts when I was in high school and almost 10 years late, I finally came in to try a few classes. I didn’t realize how much fun it was and I’m really mad at myself for not coming it sooner.Main St Martial Arts has lots of classes and I’m having a lot of fun learning Karate, Samurai Sword, and Jyo staff training, and that only covers half the classes. It’s a great way to stay active and I’ve made some great friends in such a short time. My sensei are very nice and down to earth, and they all teach really solid info that you can genuinely apply to your life outside of the dojo.I love every second being there and I would highly recommend trying it out. If you check out the website and follow the instructions, you can get a 1 month free trial. If you know anyone who’s interested in martial arts or like Cobra Kai, tell them to check it out!
July 23 · Johnny RiveraI started practicing Aikido 2 years ago (During Covid) and since then Aikido has helped me improve in many ways. Practicing Aikido has me calm my mind and body, and has helped me find balance in my life. In addition, Aikido is a great physical exercise. It has helped me improve my strength, flexibility, and focus. MSMA have a lot of classes from Samurai sword, Jyo Staff, Bokken Sword, Body Arts training and Zen Meditation. Everyone at the Dojo is friendly and very helpful. Sensei Michael Worth and Sensei Waldman are AWESOME teachers. Main Street Martial Arts is an AMAZING place to learn if you are looking to start some form of art.
September 14 · Tony Kennerthe senseis, sempais, and senior students at main street martial arts are some of the warmest and most caring people you could ever hope to meet. everyone truly wants to help you improve, even if you start off knowing nothing about aikido, sword, and staff (like I did)! also, you can't beat werth sensei's dad jokes. I can't recommend it more to anyone thinking of joining.
September 25 · Erin SlessMy life has certainly changed for the better since i started at Main Street Martial Arts. At first I had been a bit skeptic, given that I had studied at different dojos and received mixed results in my training. By the end of my first class however, any doubts I had about MSMA were thrown out the window. The positive atmosphere the school gives off is like nothing else I have ever experienced, and the staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Dojo traditions and courtesies are upheld to the highest form possible while still remaining a modern day dojo. Everyone is taught to practice respect, politeness, and gratitude on the mat so that when you leave the mat, the values follow and stay with you. I have only been a student of Werth Sensei for about 3 months, but under his tutelage, my mind, body, and spirit have begun a journey towards the very essence of what it means to be a martial artist. Through Aikido practice, my body has become more flexible and lean. The warm-ups at the start of each class never fail to work up a sweat and consist of a good balance between stretching, calisthenics and cardio. The actual Aikido class has a constant diversity that keeps things interesting. All students work together regardless of rank, experience, and even age to create an environment where no one feels out of place or left behind. We learn, train, and grow together. The techniques taught every class also range to fit each students level appropriately. Though some advanced techniques can be a bit overwhelming at first, no student is left in the dark. The instructors and senior students are always willing give assistance to those who need it as well as showcase their skills to demonstrate what hard work and patience will yield to you in time. MSMA also offers Zen Meditation practice as part of the Aikido curriculum. It is a wonderful way to wind down after a class and even as a strict beginner you can feel the refreshing benefits after every session. Along with meditation, Werth Sensei offers lessons on the strategic game of Go. This game will test your mind and thought process like no other and rounds out for a very balanced curriculum. Through studying at MSMA, I have come to believe that any one with an interest in martial arts will benefit from any of the programs they have to offer.
