M.O.D. Taekwondo Dagpin's Martial Arts Introduce
For many families in Ogden and the surrounding Utah area, finding an activity that promotes both physical health and personal development can be a rewarding journey. M.O.D. Taekwondo Dagpin's Martial Arts aims to be a solution for this, providing a variety of classes designed to help students of all ages improve their physical fitness, learn self-defense, and gain valuable life skills. As a martial arts school, it is a place where discipline, respect, and confidence are taught alongside the physical aspects of the sport.
The philosophy of M.O.D. Taekwondo focuses on building the whole person—physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Grand Master Marlo Dagpin, the owner, states that martial arts training is a way to teach valuable life lessons through the physical act of "kicking and punching." This approach is intended to provide a pathway for students to develop skills like perseverance, focus, and discipline that can be applied to all areas of their lives. A long-time member, who has been with the school for ten years, describes it as a "big family," highlighting the sense of community that can develop within the academy.
However, it's important for any prospective member to consider all perspectives. While some reviews praise the family-like atmosphere and the dedication of the instructors, other feedback points to significant concerns. One reviewer described their experience as "slimy" and stated that the school is "simply a money making operation," citing issues with unauthorized billing, unannounced fee increases, and a general lack of professionalism in the business and instruction. Concerns were also raised about the cleanliness of the gym and the attentiveness of the coaches. This discrepancy in experiences suggests that while the school may work for some, it may not be the right fit for everyone. It underscores the importance of a transparent and ethical business model, which can be a deciding factor for families looking for a long-term commitment.

Taekwondo is its emphasis on family and its long history in the community, which for some, has created a strong sense of loyalty. The school aims to teach valuable life skills and provide a physical workout. However, it is equally important for prospective students to consider all available feedback, including the concerns raised about business practices and cleanliness. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Like other reviews have said, they are very slimy and are simply a money making operation. Very sad because they've treated us the opposite of the values they claim to teach. The billing department is refusing to stop charging my card even after we've cancelled. Not to mention that they raised fees and charged us more than was agreed to without any notice. The gym is always dirty, the coaches are often asleep on the bleachers when we come in, and now all these issues with billing. Very happy to never be going back.
September 05 · Alicia ThorneGrand Master Marlo has been a wonderful addition to my friends list. We have been with them for 10 years and now we are like a big family.
March 21 · Carissa Millard (cmilla24)We have attended TKD since 2021. We loved the instructors, especially Rhea. Unfortunately their cancellation policy is ridiculous. I have been charged for months we didn’t attend, after telling them we would be leaving and having our account suspended. My card was charged without my authorization. When I noticed this, I asked for a refund. I was told I needed to prove my son was too sick to attend with a doctor’s note, show that we moved 25 miles away or pay $69 to cancel our account- PLUS they won’t refund me the months they already knew we weren’t attending. The third party billing company, Premier Member Plus, is terrible to work with as well.I’m disheartened by the owner’s (Marlo and Rhea’s) behavior, especially Rhea who I once respected. If we ever choose to do martial arts again, it won’t be here. I would encourage everyone to look elsewhere for better policies and more honest instructors. It’s strange that they are teaching the principles of Tae Kwon Do which are courtesy and respect, while in real life not showing those characteristics to their customers.
February 27 · Karli HarveyWe are enjoying our Tae Kwon Do classes. We super love the homeschool class Tuesday mornings. The class sizes are much smaller and we really love how patient and fun the teachers are.
December 14 · Tiffanie VatsendAfter 2 years… I can honestly say this place is a money making operation that doesn’t care about their students or the teaching methods of Master Robert yelling and singling out kids. The billing company is atrocious and i would not recommended this business to anyone.
