Institute for Martial Arts Reviews
Our daughter Charlotte has been with Sensei Smetak since she was 3, she is now 8 and going for her black belt. Sensei has been so wonderful with her as a very shy, nervous youngster, providing patience and guidance. He is wonderful with kids of all ages, professional, goal orientated, dedicated and engaging. I would suggest this for all kids, teaches them confidence, drive and respect.
September 11 · Soap :)Sensei Smetak brings an ideal balance of discipline and joy to his dojo- the atmosphere and energy reflect the ancient merits and art of Karate. Jack, our 8-Yr Old, has been a student for 4+ yrs and has really flourished under Smetak's guidance and direction. Sensei Smetak really has created a gem of a practice in New Canaan- his regular insights and one-on-one dialogue with the parents provides invaluable info on the progress and direction of the students. A big plus is the weekly "jousting/sparring" class.
