House of Discipline is distinguished by several key features and highlights that make it a truly special place to train. One of the most powerful highlights is the strong sense of community and family. As one customer stated, "It's definitely A FAMILY." This supportive environment is crucial for motivating students to push through difficult challenges, as a parent’s testimonial beautifully illustrates. The review recounts a mother's journey from reluctantly joining a class to "praying" before each session, only to find herself becoming "stronger in myself" and seeing results in just one month. This personal story highlights the transformative power of the academy's training. Another major highlight is the quality of the staff and instructors. Sensei (Mr. De La Rosa) is described as "tight" but "RIGHT," a mentor who pushes students to "reach your potential and beyond." This kind of passionate and demanding instruction is a key feature that guarantees results and long-term success. The programs for kids are also highly praised for being unique, as they push children to gain not only physical knowledge but also "common sense and thinking skills," which is a rare and valuable component of an after-school program. The fact that the academy is a "family/veteran business" adds another layer of trust and appreciation from the community. The affordability of the programs is also a significant highlight, as one customer noted that it was "very affordable for my two kids and myself to train here compared to everywhere else." This makes high-quality martial arts and fitness training accessible to more families. Practical amenities like a restroom and the acceptance of credit and debit cards also add to the convenience. These features, from the strong community to the expert instruction and thoughtful amenities, make House of Discipline a standout choice for anyone in the Spring Valley area looking to make a lasting positive change in their life.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The House of Discipline has been a blessing to me and my family. I started off enrolling my daughter in the evening class with Mr. De La Rosa. She hated it. She cried every night for about 2 weeks. So I then joined his early morning 8am women's workout class, to show my daughter it wasn't that bad. 😂😂😂 The joke was on me beause Sensei as I call him KICKED MY BUTT!!! That class was SOOO hard, I found myself crying. I didn't show fear or tears during the class but in the car I would ask myself what I was doing. I would pray before class everyday and question why I came. But the more I went and the harder he pushed the more and more I became stronger in myself knowing that my body did not control me I controlled me. I reciprocated that to my daughter as well. After 2 weeks she was EXCITED to go to class. We started taking classes in July 2024. She has been consistent since July. We are in February 2025. I slacked in November and December, but I came back January 2025. It's been real but I would not have chosen a better place to work out. Mentally, physically, and supportively House of Discipline is the place. The staff is top tier. It's definitely A FAMILY. Sensei (Mr. Dela Rosa) is tight as my mom would say, but he's RIGHT. You don't want someone who you can walk over who is helping you work out, you want someone who will help you excel to the goal you have set . House of Discipline will help you reach your potential and beyond. I saw results in a month. Consistency is key. The program that is in place for the kids is definitely one that I have never seen before. My daughter is pushed to gain not only physical knowledge but common sense and thinking skills. I teach those things but to have someone else help push those skills is SOOOO important because the schools don't do that anymore. If you need a village House of Discipline is the VILLAGE. Thank you House of Discipline for the extension of FAMILY. 💜
February 25 · Neshea HarrisonKOD is an amazing place to train for all ages and experience levels. From little kiddos to adults, this is definitely a place I would recommend coming to. I found it very affordable for my two kids and myself to train here compared to everywhere else I’ve looked into as well as the variety of martial art forms they teach. The staff are amazing and passionate in their craft and I really appreciate that this is a family/veteran business. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the experience and the lessons and teachings are valuable in itself.Don’t hesitate when it comes to HOD.
October 01 · Iris WilkinsOur Experience has been one of Respect and Welcoming! I wish I could give them (HoD) 10 stars.1st- In the past We tried to enroll our kid in swimming lessons, we made it clear about his special need, and ended up dropping them, because they would berate my child and made us feel unwelcome.2nd- we tired gymnastics at the YMCA , and the instructor would get flustered and would act exasperated towards our child. In my opinion she did not have the patience, character, experience and or presence of mind to engage or deal with little kids.(3 to 5 y/olds) and finally3rd- we are currently here at the House of Discipline. I can honestly say that we could not have made a better choice. We came for a trial class and immediately my son could feel the vibe and the energy. He loves it, we love it. Let me point out that we didn't even mention about his special need, but they completely embraced him for whom he is. They engage him, respect him, redirect him and guide him as needed. Let me just say that my son can be stubborn when it comes to his attention span. He tends to focus or disengage very much at a whim. he follows his own pace. There has been many moments where we keep thinking "this is it, they're gonna hate us, they're gonna be done with us, they're gonna tell us he can't come to class" but each and every one of those moments I'm proved wrong, by their generous empathic patient approach. They are teaching him to control his body and to focus his mind. I highly recommend HOD to any parent that is looking for a fun wholesome and consistent activity for their kids. Very well worth it. You'll immediately see positive changes in your mini me. Thanks to every one at HOD, especially Miss Evelyn, and Miss Star!
September 19 · Joe IbarraI found HOD online and signed up for a free class. We have been there 4 months and it's one of the best decisions we have done for our 16 year old son. Mr. De La Rosa is a excellent instructor/teacher/guide. All of his principles are based on respect for others and oneself. I love the philosophy he teacher our son. The training is very rigorous but the reward is worth it. My son has lost weight, gained muscle and can defend himself should he ever need too. The biggest improvement in my son is that he has gained confidence physically and mentally.Don't think about it anymore. Come and try the class and you'll see you're child flourish in all aspects of his life.
July 12 · Vanessa RabayBeen coming to House of Discipline for over 3 years with my kids, each with different levels of experience but the same understanding of what it means to be respectful, disciplined, and the support of a community! This is a place of growth, of learning, of guidance, where life lessons are expressed, and self defense is taught.
