★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is, bar none, the best gym in the whole triangle area, probably North Carolina. All of the coaches are phenomenal at what they do so you're getting training at a high level, with a strong focus on fundamentals, and yet the space(/the people in it) feels easygoing in a way that's just fun to be around day after day. Not just the coaches, but even other students are extremely helpful as well, and many are more than willing to offer assistance, both in and outside of classes, while still being humble if a given situation calls for them to say "I'm not sure about this, but I can refer you to [person/resource]." And the enthusiasm both coaches and fellow students share for seeing progress, it's just wholesome and it's infectious. You're getting honest, straightforward feedback; but when you struggle with something, then you finally nail it and they seem just as hyped as you are, it's the best feeling! There's something to do nearly every day of the week, so you can be in the gym as much as you want. Most days offer a bevy of classes for strikers, grapplers, and those interested in MMA (and now with a specially dedicated Hometown Strength and Performance Centre), all throughout the day, in addition to private training available. So whatever your schedule, there's always a chance to get into something. Whether you wanna compete, learn for real-world applications, or you're just training to get a bit more activity in your life, it's all love. And it's not the kinda place where you're in there fighting for your life on day one, so you can actually take the time to learn in a safe environment with competent individuals, because you're not stressed about just trying to survive if you've never trained before. But also if you're a competitor looking to get in work with great training partners, we got that too.
August 07 · Adrian WilsonInitial phone call was very kind and informative. The entire staff was so welcoming to let him join a quick demo class. My son is very shy and this opened a lot of exciting upcoming self esteem for him! Thank you so much for being so kind. We are excited to commit monthly!
July 25 · Sierra JohnsonMy daughter and I were visiting Raleigh for a week and had a drop-in class at the Hometown Martial Art and ended up going there everyday. Amazing coaches, great space and super friendly community. Would defo go back next time we are in town again!
July 21 · Yoonee JeongTrevor and Talia are two of the nicest and most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. Trevor has been in the fight game forever, and the knowledge he brings alone makes the value you get for your money incredible. Christian and Dylan run excellent jiu-jitsu classes, and Coach Lopez's boxing classes are some of the best in the area. The vibe is super welcoming and chill, making it completely unintimidating for beginners. Whether you're a hobbyist or looking to compete, this is the best place to train at in the area.
June 18 · Edwin DiazBest martial arts gym around, employees are super knowledgeable and down to earth, the gym’s atmosphere and vibes are crazy chill/fun…can’t say enough positive things about Trevor (owner and founder) He’s been in the fight industry for a long time and has tons of experience (life and martial arts) which makes for a great coach, mentor and owner!!! Additionally the gym’s “theme” is awesome…as soon as you walk in, you know it’s the place to be!
