★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1There are levels to martial arts academies and High Altitude is just on another level. I have trained at a number of schools on the east coast and none offer what they do. Whether you are looking for a kids program, are a middle aged hobbyist like myself, an aspiring professional, or already a pro they got you covered. BJJ or striking, the coaches are not only great martial artists, but great at coaching others. The owner of the gym is a former professional fighter who now trains pro fighters, regularly jumps in to teach the youth classes. I can’t stress to my children enough how rare/special it is to learn from someone with a resume like that. The staff are helpful and polite regardless of what your rank is and that starts at the top. The facility is top notch and always clean. The martial arts community is special and High Altitude showcases all that is great about it. Really can’t say enough, so if you’re on the fence about it, get off of it and go check it out.Sean Morrison
August 03 · Morrison FitCoDecided to give High Altitude a try and I loved it! The staff and coaches are really professional and cordial. I took a beginners class and it was awesome! I learned a lot just from a single session. This establishment made me fall back in love with the sport. I would highly recommend High Altitude Martial Arts if you are considering getting into mma. I give them 10/10 and would definitely come back again!
May 05 · m. asejoI was visiting from St. Louis and dropped in at High Altitude Martial Arts while in Denver. From the moment I walked through the doors, the hospitality was incredible. Everyone was welcoming, easy to talk to, and willing to share knowledge. The coaches—no matter their belt level—were not only extremely knowledgeable but genuinely cared about every single person on the mat. I’ll be making this my go-to spot every time I’m in Denver. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-tier training and an amazing atmosphere!
August 07 · GabeCouldn’t ask for more than what HAMA offers. Our whole family trains here. Their kids program is astounding, the kids coaches truly care and are so personable with the kids. The adult classes are also amazing, they’re so inclusive! The coaches and professors are all friendly and eager to teach. Being a female myself, I’ve felt very safe and welcomed here (that’s a huge deal to me).
August 24 · A KSo after a couple months of sampling the secret sauce at High Altitude Martial Arts and I'm ready to leave my highly critical, no holds barred review.First and most importantly, the kids program is epic. Daily talks from the coaches called "mat chat" instill values and educate before an easy 1:4 instructor/student ratio ensures that no child is left behind to "fall through the cracks" as Head Coach, Professor Cody Donovan says. The "Yeti" BJJ program, stemming from strong jiu-Jitsu Backgrounds is both rich with technique and still beginner friendly. With a focus on safety and performance, students are guaranteed to learn a lot of skills quickly if they put in the effort. The HAMA Striking program is well formed and makes use of several striking styles and dutch training methods. Coaches are very approachable here and they answer questions readily and completely.Class sizes are perfect!Like anywhere, guard your grill and train safely! But training here is definitely going to step up your game as there's always an all star cast of pro MMA fighters and friends slipping in and out of the place you can see where the talent goes, and for Colorado, I feel this is the spot.
