A local parent's testimonial speaks volumes about the academy's impact. They shared, "I enrolled my 9-year-old son (now 10) in September of last year. It has turned out to be one of the best parenting decisions I have made. The instructors are firm but fair and understanding. They emphasize important values like respect and reciprocity while still teaching the beautiful art of Hapkido and the culture around it. My son has been able to progress in other areas of life because of the lessons he has learned here." This highlights the academy's commitment to holistic development, proving that the benefits of training here go far beyond the dojo and into daily life, helping students succeed in school, at home, and in their community.
Another student, new to the academy, also shared their enthusiasm: "I started a few weeks ago, I forgot which class it is but it’s on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I have enjoyed and am enjoying this. It helps when I feel like I’m not doing enough throughout the week, but I do it for fun, self-defense. It has taught me a lot and there are a lot more to learn so. So please if you think about signing your kids up, please do it! It will be the best decision you will ever make! I love this class so much and the teachers/instructors are extremely nice! Yes, this is a class to learn discipline and such but it’s also to have fun! So do that!" This review underscores the academy's welcoming and encouraging environment, showing that it’s not just a place for serious training, but also a space to have fun, relieve stress, and build confidence. July 04 · Jeffrey JonesExcellent school to learn how to defend yourself no matter your age! Discipline, confidence, respecting others and yourself are taught here. Do yourself, or a child in your life a favor if considering a martial art, give Georgia Hapkido a try! It's worth the drive for us!!
September 23 · A MitchellHaving been to three previous TaeKwonDo schools and all closed down due to poor management, it has been nice finding this school. Understandably, I had to start at white belt since this is a new discipline. Since my uniform did not have affiliation to other schools and the appropriate color, I was allowed to use it. That was nice since it was broken in and comfortable to train in.Monthly fee is extremely reasonable. No auto draft or credit card payments. Does not charge for the testing and belts like other martial arts schools. All equipment needed in class is provided by the school. You will be given first uniform if you need it. Owner has said more than once he wants to earn your business and does not want to be like other schools. He is focused on teaching and not getting the money like my former schools. No discount deals for tuition to get money, just asks you pay monthly. No false promises.I have never been to a school which has had so many dedicated students. You can truly see the legacy being built as many of his students have been there for many years.Looking forward to earning my place here as I have previously in TaeKwonDo. Missing teaching TKD but waiting for the time when I can teach again. Thank you Master Popham and staff for the welcoming training environment.
