F.I.T. Martial Arts - St Louis Introduce
Hello, Florissant residents and St. Louis area families! If you're searching for a martial arts school that offers a wide range of disciplines and a comprehensive approach to training, F.I.T. Martial Arts - St Louis is a name you'll want to know. This local institution prides itself on providing a diverse curriculum that goes beyond traditional martial arts, incorporating elements of fitness, personal development, and self-defense. They cater to a broad audience, with programs designed for children, teens, and adults, ensuring that everyone in the family can find a class that fits their goals. Whether your child is looking for a new activity after school, or you're an adult seeking a new fitness challenge, F.I.T. Martial Arts offers a variety of options to help you on your journey toward physical and mental strength.
F.I.T. Martial Arts has established itself as a multi-faceted center for physical and personal growth in the Florissant community. The school offers a unique system called In-Sang Do, which is a blend of various styles designed for comprehensive self-defense. This approach combines techniques from Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Hapkido, Jiu-Jitsu, and Kickboxing, giving students a well-rounded skill set. The school’s philosophy is centered on not just physical prowess but also the development of life skills such as discipline, confidence, and respect. They aim to create a supportive environment where students, referred to as "F.I.T. Warriors," can overcome limiting beliefs and develop a "Yes I CAN..." attitude. This focus on holistic development is a significant part of the school's mission, making it appealing to parents and individuals who prioritize character building alongside physical training.
While the school's programs and philosophy are highly regarded by many, some aspects of the business operations have been a point of discussion for a few families. One customer shared a detailed review about the cancellation policy, noting that there is a 90-day cancellation period during which payments are still required, even if the student no longer attends classes. This policy is explained at the time of sign-up, but it's an important detail to be aware of for parents whose children might lose interest. The same review also mentioned an "exit interview" process designed to encourage students to stay. Additionally, another review expressed concerns about the after-school camp, citing issues with spontaneous scheduling and a perceived lack of supervision for large groups of children. These points are important for potential customers to consider as they make an informed decision, highlighting the need for clear communication and a full understanding of the school's policies and operations before enrollment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was a good experience for my daughter who thought it would be cool to do martial arts. Unfortunately she lost interest. Make sure you pay attention when signing your child up. You can't just quit, you have to start a cancelation period of 3 months before you officially end payments for classes. Meaning, you still have to pay for 3 months of classes. Example, you want to stop classes Jan 1st. You can't just quit you have to fill out a form saying you want to cancel. From there there is a 90 day cancelation period for which you still have to make the bi-weekly payments. Your child can still train but you will be charged regardless if they come or not for those 90 days. Just something to think about when signing them up. They explain all of this at initial sign up but it's easy to forget about it, especially if your child has been doing it for a while. Oh and there is an exit interview of sorts also. You're asked a series of questions about why you want your child to stop classes. In this meeting, you will be given all the reasons not to quit. To me it was basically a way to convince you to stay. In the higher belts your child will be training with all other higher belts so some kids will be doing other things which can be a distraction to your child unless they are extremely focused.
July 24 · drew jonesSeems like a nice place but you would be HIGHLY mistaken. Camp days are completely spontaneous, workers are not told their schedules in a timely manner meaning they show up every day without knowing what they'll be doing. They have coach's who had little to no training take on tasks people spend years mastering, such as caring for large groups of children all at once. Would you trust your kids with a fresh out of highschool coach who is all by themselves because the boss never around? Well that is what you're signing them up for. Not impressed.
June 10 · Patty SimmonsI quit a few months ago and I feel like nothing about this place was good. The only good worker was the black guy but when he left because with a bad knee everyone fell apart because he had students teaching class themselves and fat shamed people even though he is big himself I hated this place and I don’t recommend going here
August 20 · The max LolF.I.T. Martial Arts is life changing. It's not just about kicking and punching, it's about personal development and transformation. Great experience!
August 30 · Mwansa RayI love this place. I see my son having so much fun and believing in himself. He is enjoying his growth and so am I. The staff is awesome and the training is easy enough for kids to pick up yet engaging enough for the kids to apply themselves. Highly recommend.
