EJ's Warrior Karate Academy Reviews
I've never been here and no one I know has either....why I'm leaving a review is because the bus they drive to pick up and drop off kids...keeps flying through my neighborhood. So I called them and told them this. And the guy hung up on me. And didn't answer again. I have it on camera.
June 17 · Rob BalloraWe were awarded the ACE grant and decided to participate in karate at EJ's Warrior Karate Academy. We signed our children up on January 23rd. They attended their first class on January 29th.On February 26th we were heading out to take the girls to karate practice. I texted EJ the owner letting him know that I was approved an ACE grant for my son & would like an invoice to sign him up tonight when we're already there. He told me that open enrollment was on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm. That I had to come during this time if I wanted to sign my son up. My husband and I were annoyed to be honest that we would have to come back a separate time just to receive an invoice but we did.On February 27th at 6:30pm I took son & youngest daughter to sign my son up. The 2 teachers that we normally have during class time were initiating open enrollment. We watched a slideshow that was presented to my husband when he signed up the girls. At the end the teacher asked if I had any questions. My youngest daughter had voiced that she didn't want to do tournaments. My oldest daughter said she would like to. My only question was if the tournaments were mandatory or not. The teacher didnt know this answer. He had to ask the owner, EJ. EJ was running his team class at the time of open enrollment. The class was doing different drills & rotating out. The teacher asked him when he had time we had a question for him. Ej stated that he didnt have time but then came over and stated "okay, whats the question?" I proceeded to ask if tournaments were mandatory or not. He replied with statements - They only have 1 a year & we dont even know if they will go to the tournaments because thats what they are training for. I proceeded to ask my same question as I didnt get an answer. He then proceeded to belittle me with a dictator behavior asking why I didnt come to the parent meeting or zoom call on Sunday, that then would have been a great time to ask (It was my sons first birthday & I already messaged them letting them know I wouldn't be there because we had already planned his party & they replied back it was okay because the information given wouldn't really pertain to them being new). Then stated that he was busy, he had more important things to focus on and that I could wait until 7:30 when his class was over to discuss it further. The teacher asked if I was going to wait until 730 & I walked out.A few things: Dont schedule your open enrollment during a class where you can't answer new parents questions. Possibly the teacher could have taken my question and had EJ email me the answer. As it was an yes or no question. He came over to answer my question!Anywho, my husband did message him that he didnt have to be disrespectful & an apology was owed. No reply back.Today February 28th the day after, my husband loads up the car to take the 3 kids to practice & speak to EJ as again his action were unnecessary. EJ wasnt there & the teachers informed our children that they were restricted from the place of business. That there was possible a meeting on Saturday for both parents to be present...that EJ would reach out to us.My husband decided to call EJ as we've prepaid for the month of March for both girls ($100 each) & literally just signed my son up the night before ($100) & of course have $150 in uniforms. EJ answers the phone - stating that my husband needs to refer to him as SENSI ( instead of Mr. Jennings) & that we are not to contact him...he will contact us and hangs up on my husband. We've reached out to ACE to cancel our sons request & to get our March dues back. As well as Mr. Jennings & of course no reply back. I do not recommend this business! Please stay far away! Theres no respect for you as a customer, parent or even a human being. I dont know how hes made it this far with this demeanor. Mr. Jennings is not a grounded mentor for children & it makes me sad that hes connected to the school system. As of February 29th, Ive filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
March 01 · Karin HoggSooooo I want to start by saying that my kids are my world and I don’t leave them with just anybody. When I walked in I was skeptical yet comfortable. The environment felt safe. My baby felt comfortable and that matters to me. It was evident that Emmanuel knew his business. He was direct clear and confident. He went above and beyond by providing transportation and additional resources for kids that couldn’t afford to pay. He feeds the kids. Not just the kids enrolled in his program I’m talking about the community kids. That alone shows his heart. Don’t get me wrong all of that is great but it was my babies smile when I pulled up on her and she couldn’t stop talking and telling me about her day! That’s what I needed to see! I could see it in her eyes she loves it! So basically I’m about to enroll my other little baby and the other baby after that lol. Anyway if your in need of a safe environment for your kids for the summer or if you just want to learn how to protect yourself this man and programs will be a great start. By the way my child is 12 so anyone that has children know that they’re very moody and emotional around this age so for her to actually like something that I actually chose says a lot in itself.

August 12 · THE OTF FAMI do not recommend you to send your kids to EJ's Warrior Karate Academy The kids there have lice and brought my brothers home with it. They have not sent out notice to parents about the situation which is very unprofessional.
