Both facilities are available for 2 hour Birthday Party Rentals weekdays during the day and some weekends. Kids receive 1.5 hours of Instructor-led activities which include games, contests, prizes, and a Taekwondo mini-lesson including board breaking. They also get to bounce to their little heart’s content on our 20’ Tumbl Trak which is basically a long open-air bounce house. We provide the big padded room and activities, and you provide the cake and/or food; and everyone leaves happy and exhausted! This is a great option for an affordable indoor party during the cold and wet months.

All ages. These classes are open to everyone of all ages and belt levels. You are not required to have another family member in the class to attend. However, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult family member. Classes are 50 minutes and curriculum is focused on having fun, building confidence, coordination, focus, respect, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit, and self-control. Regular Taekwondo skills are taught at all belt levels, but the pace of this class is slightly slower pace and has less of an emphasis on fitness.

Kid’s Parties
Also known as: Parent’s Night Out! For kids 5-12 years old (12-14 year old kids can be group leaders). These are themed parties which are typically held one Saturday each month from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. Each party is packed full of games, contests, food, and prizes so the kids are nice and tired when they get home! Location rotates between Counterforce and Counterforce West.

4 to 7 year old beginners. White, yellow, and orange belts only. Classes are 30 minutes and curriculum is focused on play and coordination as well as encouraging focus and respect. Regular Taekwondo skills are taught at the white belt, yellow belt, and orange belt levels. Students are encouraged to attend as much as possible. Once a student earns their green belt or reaches 7 years old, they will be moved into our regular youth classes.

All ages and belt levels. Classes are 60 minutes long and are focused on sparring drills, contact sparring, strategy, tactics, and building mental and physical strength. These classes are fast paced and demanding. Participation in these classes is mandatory before a student will be allowed to compete at a local tournament. These classes are also a precursor requirement before being selected onto the Counterforce Fight team.

“A.C.E.” Afterschool Program
ids enrolled in 1st through 6th grade at Lafayette Elementary School. This is daily (must enroll for 4-5 days per week) Afterschool Character Enhancement program from 2:25pm (or 1:10pm on Wednesdays) to 6:00pm. We offer a daily walking service from Lafayette directly to Counterforce Taekwondo West (0.4 miles) with the highest value placed on safety and reliability. A.C.E. kids will receive a snack, assistance with homework, free play time, and Taekwondo training each day. Please contact Counterforce West for more info. *Kids from other elementary schools are welcome to join but we are unable to assist with transport.

I can’t say enough positive things about Counterforce. They are a professional, courteous, and wonderful community to be apart of. Every child is welcome here and will learn skills that can serve them for the rest of their lives. The instructors will learn your child’s name and really get to know them on a personal level and give them the attention they need to be successful. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch sessions. It’s also a great way to meet the other parents. There are adult classes as well, so you could train as a whole family. The schedule has many offerings during the week and Saturday, so you’ll be able to find time to participate. Overall, this is an excellent dojang and a gem of Burien. Don’t hesitate to join. You won’t regret it.

This was my daughter's first time ever doing a sport or consistently being around other kids, they made her feel very welcoming and she warmed up very quick. Kiara had a smile on her face the whole time she was on the mat, so I know she loved it. Every instructor was very caring and patient with the kids & i loved watching it. I highly, highly recommend these guys. :)

The team at counterforce, especially Master Chris and Master Ray, are top notch. They provide attention to students helping them foster strong confidence and bonds with their fellow students. They find a way to make classes fun while ensuring they are getting the education needed to learn and one day master the art of Taekwondo. We enrolled our niece as a student and immediately began to watch her flourish. She was able to connect with kids her age which was near impossible for her during COVID. She took her classes seriously, even as a 7yr old, and was excited to move up in belts. Tournaments that were put on allowed her to compete, proving that hard work paid off even earning her a first place medal. We highly recommend joining a class to see for yourself!

We miss this place so much. Mr. Ray and Mr Himor. Really have a great passion for their students. My son connected with the instructor, students and made such wonderful friendships. They also host tournaments my son won his first tournament. He was filled with so much joy. Highly recommend if you have a child dealing with bullying or just confidence place to be. Pricing is reasonable and many payment options as well.

My 2 kids (7 and 10yrs) have been going to Counterforce for about a year now, and our whole family loves it. The kids adore all of the Masters and other instructors, and I am always impressed with the patience and attention shown to all of the kids. My kids have progressed so much in just a year, and I really see a difference in their confidence and discipline. Counterforce has managed to find a great balance between skills training, conditioning, and fun. My kids genuinely enjoy class and it's so great for them to have goals (like earning new belts).We also recently had my 7 year old's birthday party here, and it was an absolute blast. There were about 5 team members assisting with the party and they had plenty of activities planned that kept all the kids (and adults) having fun for the entire party. I was so, so impressed and to date it is our family's favorite place we've had a birthday party.Burien is genuinely lucky to have Counterforce, and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.
