★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Connecticut Budo Karate has changed my life. It helped me with so many things including discipline, determination, and patience. They taught me a lot about how to defend myself in certain situations. I also got the amazing opportunity to help train the younger students. Over my 10 years of being here, I have always loved the community and the amount of care they put into their students. I consider my Dojo a family. I believe that my years of training at Connecticut Budo Karate has had a positive impact on my overall development and performance in other sports. If anyone is considering joining karate, I recommend Connecticut Budo Karate.Dylan Matthews
September 01 · Dylan MatthewsOur sons started at the ages of 6 and 9. While our older son tried it and found it wasn’t for him (fell in love with hockey and chose that path), our younger son thrived within the community. He worked hard and was supported every step of the way by the leaders and older students. He learned discipline, strength, responsibility, and acceptance among other things. He is now 15 years old and has grown into a really great kid. I believe it has a lot to do with his involvement in the Budo Karate community. He now plays soccer as well and has carried all those values onto the field. My husband and I highly recommend this dojo. It is a family environment that works hard to ensure the success of every child. There is room for all levels of engagement and it’s truly heart warming to see how the older kids who go on to college, come back and remain involved. That is the true testament of the warm environment that has been created there.
September 01 · ANGELA MAIOCCOConnecticut Budo Karate is a great program and I recommend it for anyone who is interested in martial arts. It is not only great at teaching at an advanced level, but is very beginner friendly as well. I started in the "Little Dragons" kids program at the age of 4, and I have improved until I am now a 1st degree Black Belt in the Kyokushin Adults program. Even years later, I am improving and learning. Budo Karate emphasizes the the values of discipline and respect, along with teaching immaculate self defense. Budo karate pushes me to my limits, making me stronger and more well-rounded. The core values that the dojo prioritizes are important for life in general, and can have a positive impact in anything you do. The community is like a family, and I would recommend going here to anyone interested in karate.Tyler Matthews
September 01 · Tyler MI’ve been going here for 15 years and it completely changed my life. As a child I was pre-diabetic. My doctor told me I had to add in exercise to my diet or I would end up having diabetes. This dojo changed my path of life and with coming here for exercise I was able to reverse the damage done to my body. I can now happily say I am healthier for coming here. Not only did it help me both mentally and physically but it gave me some of my best friends and parental figures whom I could not imagine life without.I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for community, physical health, or a positive mental outlook.
