Central Florida Chayon Ryu Introduce
In the landscape of martial arts schools in Florida, Central Florida Chayon Ryu stands out as a beacon of authenticity and tradition. This martial arts school, located in Orlando, is dedicated to teaching the "Natural Way," a philosophy that combines natural body motions with techniques from multiple classical martial arts styles, including Chinese Chu'an Fa (Kung Fu), Okinawan Karate, Korean Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido. This unique and comprehensive system offers students a rich and practical skill set for self-defense, sparring, and forms, all while fostering significant personal growth.
Unlike many commercialized "mall karate" schools, Central Florida Chayon Ryu is not focused on profit, tournaments, or flashy gimmicks. As one former student notes, "they’re here to teach you real martial arts so that you can become the most effective person you’re capable of." The core philosophy is about self-improvement, awareness, and the ability to defend yourself and your loved ones. The instructors are described as "passionate and knowledgeable," dedicated to building a genuine friendship with their students while helping them become better martial artists and individuals. This commitment to tradition and a no-nonsense approach is what has made this dojo a top choice for those in the Orlando area seeking a "real martial art."

Central Florida Chayon Ryu offers a streamlined and focused approach to martial arts training, centered on the core principles of the Chayon Ryu system.
- Classical Martial Arts Training: The main service is instruction in Chayon Ryu, a unique blend of multiple traditional martial arts styles.
 - Physical Fitness: The training is designed to be a great workout, helping students lose weight, gain flexibility, and improve their overall physical ability.
 - Self-Defense: A key component of the curriculum is the practical application of techniques for real-world self-defense situations.
 - Core Skill Building: The program includes sparring, forms, and the use of weapons like bo staffs, building a well-rounded skill set.
 - Character Development: Beyond physical skills, the training focuses on improving character, discipline, and mental fortitude.
 - No Contracts: The school prides itself on not requiring long-term financial contracts, a policy that offers flexibility and a commitment to teaching over profit.

Central Florida Chayon Ryu is not just a martial arts school; it's a unique and highly respected institution in the Orlando community. Several features set it apart and make it a highly recommended sports activity location.
- Authentic and Traditional Focus: Unlike commercial schools that prioritize belts and fees, this dojo is dedicated to the "real" and "authentic" practice of martial arts. The focus is on the art itself and the personal growth of the student.
 - Highly Knowledgeable Instructors: The teachers are praised for their passion and knowledge, with one reviewer noting their ability to "build a friendship" with students. This close-knit relationship between students and instructors creates an ideal learning environment.
 - Holistic Development: The training is not single-minded. It is designed to improve physical ability, character, and mental balance. One student highlighted their own success in losing 30 pounds and improving flexibility, showing the profound physical benefits.
 - No Gimmicks, No Nonsense: The school has a straightforward approach, with no intermediate stripes on belts or extra fees for every step. They recognize 10 ranks to black belt and 10 ranks of black belt, and it’s "one test per belt. Period." This transparency builds trust with students and parents.
 - Community over Competition: While the school teaches sparring, it is not a "sport or tournament karate" school. The focus is on self-improvement and personal safety, rather than on winning and losing, creating a non-ego driven environment where everyone can thrive.
 - Longstanding Stability: Having been in the same location since 1985, the school has a history of stability and a proven track record, making it a reliable choice for families seeking a long-term martial arts home.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best Karate school in Florida. If you want to learn Self-defence, history, discipline, and have a great workout this is the school for you!!The teachers are amazing not only do they help you become a better martial artist but they build a friendship. I've never seen a better martial arts school than this one.
May 21 · AngelI've trained in Chayon Ryu for about a year before I moved to another state. I've checked out several dozen dojos of different martial arts in Orlando before deciding on Chayon Ryu and it was the best decision. This place is true, authentic martial arts. The instructors are very passionate and knowledgeable. The costs aren’t crazy because they’re not there to make profit on all sorts of badges and fees like other places…they’re here to teach you real martial arts so that you can become the most effective person you’re capable of.What’s so unique about this place as well is the core philosophy of Chayon Ryu…having a mixed traditional style of multiple other arts. Check out the Chayon Ryu websites for a detailed history on it. Not only do you get a practical taste of multiple arts…everything is thoroughly explained on how it can be used in defense. Nothing is single minded, you’re building a skill set in defense, sparring, forms, bo staffs, body ability, etc. There were random days where we did kyokushin style sparring, and some fun days where we just pulled the mats out and dabbled in BJJ despite not being the focus. There’s focus not just in learning the art which by the way the founder/grand master of the art is still around for in Houston, but to improve on your physical ability and character. I’ve lost about 30~ lbs and gained a lot of improvements in my flexibility issues.I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a real martial art in Orlando. Even now where I am at another state…I’m doing Muay thai, knockdown karate and judo…and yet I still miss many things about what we did in Chayon Ryu that they did better.
