At Budo, the focus extends far beyond physical training. The instructors are not only highly skilled in various martial arts but are also committed to fostering positive development. They are known for being super kind, encouraging, and fun, all while instilling crucial values like focus and discipline. As one parent enthusiastically shared, "My 8-year-old son has such a great time there, he's always excited for class and leaves feeling proud and happy." This testimonial speaks to the positive energy and warm, welcoming vibe that permeates the academy. It’s a place where every person feels seen, valued, and encouraged to succeed.
The curriculum is designed to be comprehensive, touching on physical fitness, self-defense, and character development. The "Self Defense Tactics and Conflict Management" component is a huge part of their program, ensuring students learn practical skills for real-world situations. For parents, watching their children grow in responsibility and independence is a major highlight. A parent of a 4.5-year-old noted how the program empowers their son to take care of his own gear and bag, a wonderful step towards independence. This hands-on, skills-based approach is what makes Budo stand out.
What’s particularly impressive is the instructors' dedication to communicating directly with their students, regardless of age. Another parent highlighted how Coach Brandon directed his questions straight to their son, reinforcing self-expression and communication. This approach not only builds confidence but also shows that Budo is genuinely invested in each student's personal growth journey. At the end of each class, a coach provides a summary of the day’s activities and their benefits—such as teamwork, courage, and taking educated risks—making it easy for parents and caregivers to stay informed, even while watching from the adjoining viewing room.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We absolutely love Budo Martial Arts! My 8-year-old son has such a great time there, he's always excited for class and leaves feeling proud and happy. The instructors are super kind, encouraging, and fun, while still teaching focus and discipline. It's been wonderful to see his confidence grow, and the positive energy at Budo is something we really appreciate. Such a great place with a warm, welcoming vibe. So glad we found it!
July 15 · Dmitry IvasSo far, so good! 🙂 Two classes in.My 4.5-year-old son jumped into the program without hesitation and is already showing signs of responsibility. It's fantastic to see how the program empowers him to take care of his own gear and bag, which is a great step towards independence. After the first class, we sat down with Coach Brandon. I was impressed with how he directed many of his questions straight to my son rather than to me. This approach allowed my son to express his own feelings and opinions, which I always encourage at home. It was wonderful to see Budo reinforcing this aspect of communication and self-expression.As the class ends, a coach provides a summary of the day's activities and their benefits, such as teamwork, courage, and taking educated risks. This summary is helpful since the class discussions aren't always audible, but parents / caregivers can watch through a large window in the adjoining room.
June 02 · Stephanie BairWe just had my son’s birthday party at Budo Martial Arts and it was awesome! Brandon took care of absolutely everything—set up, activities, keeping the kids entertained—he made the whole thing completely stress-free for us. The kids had a blast learning some fun martial arts moves and running around with nonstop energy. The staff was super friendly and great with the kids, and the whole experience felt really well thought out and fun. If you're looking for a birthday party that’s different, exciting, and easy to plan, I can’t recommend Budo enough. Huge thanks to Brandon and the team for making it such a great day!
July 21 · A. DeStefanoUpdate 8-12-2025: Just had to stop back to this previous review and update. My kids have now been going to Budo for about 6 months. Both kids (5 and 7) talk about Budo at home and look forward to going to their classes. I find that they are fully engaged in class and attentive the whole time. I know they genuinely enjoy classes and how it makes them feel. They both recently went up a belt. They practiced to get ready for the quarterly challenge and when passing, looked forward to the belt ceremony. (Congrats to Mr. Brandon as well for his promotion to Coach). This leads me to the real reason for the update. The staff here are incredibly. Everyone treats each kid with respect. They take extra care to help new students and even the students that show less than average enthusiasm to be there. Every class I am more and more impressed with the leadership at Budo. Their skills for one, second to none but most importantly the core values they focus translates very well to the kids of all ages. Definitely something I see doing with my kids for years to come.Original March 2025: Recently started with the team at Budo. I have both my kids in the first weeks of their training and signed up because we were invited to a birthday party there of all things. The staff was extremely friendly (coach Brandon) at the party and invited us back for a true class. Immediately after the class both my kids asked if they could do it again (Coach Josh and Coach Seth really made them feel welcome. There was a sign in the lobby greeting them). We signed up after a great personal meeting with Coach Seth. He laid out that the plan for the kids was to focus on discipline, getting stronger and gaining confidence. This wasn’t anything my kids were particularly lacking today but I could tell that the staff there were just going to help them both grow in those areas and more. At 7 and 4, I wasn’t too sure my kids would take to it as quickly as they did but to my surprise, they look forward to each class and really spend the 45 minutes while there honed in on listening to the coaches and sensei. Initial experience has been extremely positive and worthy of the 5 stars. I look forward to seeing both kids grow a Budo.-Joe D
August 12 · Joe DThis has been a great experience for my kids and myself. Both my young children have gone to Budo and it has done wonder for their development, attention and discipline. They have fun, learn a lot and always enjoy going to class. The coaches excel at managing their classes and being on top of individual kids to help with personal attention if they are struggling. I have taken their adult classes myself and it would an outstanding way to get fit.
