The importance of martial arts in a child's development, as well as for adults, cannot be overstated. Beyond the physical benefits of improved strength, coordination, and flexibility, martial arts training is a powerful tool for building character. It teaches self-discipline, focus, and perseverance, all of which are essential life skills. Antonelli Martial Arts & Fitness is a place where these values are at the forefront. A parent review highlights this, noting that the instructors are "so patient, knowledgeable, helpful and trustworthy with the best interest of the kids." This sentiment is echoed by the visible improvement a child can show in a short time, as seen in the review where a daughter's high improvement was noted after just two months. For families in Central Florida, a place that prioritizes a child's growth and confidence is invaluable. However, it is also important to consider all feedback, and a different perspective from a long-time client pointed to serious concerns about the sparring environment and a perceived lack of control and focus on safety, particularly for younger students. This highlights the importance of open communication and ensuring the training philosophy aligns with individual expectations. While one experience may differ from another, the school's commitment to offering a variety of classes and its long-standing presence in the community are testaments to its dedication.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Phenomenal classes! I would 100% recommend any parents that are looking to start their child in karate to come here. The instructors are so patient, knowledgeable, helpful and trustworthy with the best interest of the kids. My daughter has been going for 2 months and has shown such high improvement. We love it here!
August 07 · Tiffany Ayers⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointed After Years of LoyaltyAfter three and a half years with Antonelli Martial Arts—and a personal relationship with Sensei Nicholas Antonelli both inside and outside the dojo—I'm deeply disappointed with how our experience ended.Over time, I observed that the sparring environment shifted away from disciplined technique and structured learning. Instead, sparring became increasingly aggressive and uncontrolled, with students hitting as hard as they could rather than practicing skillful application. This lack of technical focus created a serious concern for me as a parent, especially around long-term health risks like CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy).Despite raising these concerns with Sensei on multiple occasions and being assured that they would be addressed, no real changes occurred. The final breaking point came when my son, visibly distressed and in tears during class, was still being actively sparred with by a senior student—instructor level—who continued despite clear signs of his discomfort. I had to interrupt the class myself to protect him, something no parent should ever have to do in a place that’s supposed to build confidence and character. What began as a positive journey ended with my son’s confidence diminished and my trust completely lost. I sincerely hope this feedback leads to a reevaluation of how sparring is managed and how student well-being is prioritized.
July 29 · Kris KingWhat a great place! We bring our 7 year old here 3 times a week. The sense is great with the kids. He teaches them structure, respect, and obviously martial arts. I am highly satisfied as a parent with how well Nick runs his program. I would recommend it for anyone looking to get their child/children into something they can have fun doing and learn respect and self worth at the same time.
January 21 · Jonathan BarronWe left this dojo after 2 years. Our son was losing confidence in his karate career because he was constantly being teamed up with students 5 years his senior, and getting beat up. He has practiced karate for 8 years and has never been made to feel like he was bullied until we joined this dojo. There was no change when we addressed the issue multiple times over the course of our stay and we were given the impression that at this dojo, you get beat up until you're used to it. There was not enough emphasis on the impact of repeated blows to the head of children under 13. We were sad to have this experience.
February 27 · Tiffany KingStarted going recently to a fitness kickboxing class. Let me start by saying everyone is super friendly and welcoming to newcomers. There is a lot to learn since the majority of everyone else knows their drills and what the numbers mean. That being said- the sensei, helper, and the other attendees are very patient and willing to go over things multiple times if you’re struggling trying to remember. Sensei Nick also cares very deeply about form and makes great efforts to give everyone tips and compliments throughout the class one-on-one. It is in no way easy, especially if it’s new to you, and I’ve had to sit down for a break once or twice but no one here makes you feel bad for having to do so. Can’t wait to see the progress over time. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re curious and love a good challenge!
