What is worth choosing? For families in the California region looking for a martial arts school, America's Best Karate in Fremont offers a structured program with a clear focus on character development. Many parents praise the school for its ability to instill discipline, respect, and confidence in their children. The long-term perspective of a reviewer who has seen their grandchildren thrive for over three years highlights a consistent, positive experience where instructors effectively balance discipline and learning. This positive feedback from long-term families is a strong indicator of the school's value and the quality of its instructors.
However, it is also crucial to acknowledge and consider the contrasting observations. A reviewer who visited the school and observed a class noted concern over the instructor's methods, describing them as "rough" and noting that some children were crying. This perspective raises important questions about the psychological approach to teaching, and the difference between being "tough" and being "rough." While the school's philosophy is to earn respect and trust, this review suggests that some methods may be perceived differently by observers. For prospective students and their parents, this highlights the importance of visiting the school in person, observing a class, and speaking directly with instructors and current students to get a full picture of the training environment. Ultimately, the right choice depends on what an individual values most: a traditional, no-nonsense approach to discipline or a more modern, overtly gentle and encouraging one. By weighing both positive and critical feedback, families can make the best decision for their child's needs and their personal philosophy on education and discipline.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve learned Taekwondo from middle school to college at another dojo, and I was just a passer by to this studio, and observed for a good 10min, but what I saw 3 of the kids were crying out of around 8 students elementary school age. The male instructor was very rough yanking the kids (mostly girls) here and there (not in the style of part of the training).Just to say I dont know the whole story, I was not in class or know what training they were going through, but just looking at how they interact, I would stay away from this place if for my kids. The instructor should earn the student’s respects and trust. Students can cry all they want when feel frustrated or defeated, but what I saw was neglect of the psychology side of the martial arts. Being rough differs from being tough. Please have some other opinions from instructors of other dojos, before joining this.

He's really great with the kids, and knows his stuff. He incorporates a good mix of discipline and learning, earning the respect of both kids and parents. An excellent teacher and sensei.
